I got my GD results - 137! But I made the cut. Lisa- what did the doctor say about your diet? Any special tips? Even though I "passed" I feel like I should probably watch what I eat.

lisa13 - April 23

Hey julie-
well eat brkfast lunch and dinner about 30 carb per meal and 3 snacks a day.

so eat 6 times a day with carbs and protein. healthy carbs not cookie cake wht bread past.

small meals.

hi ladies! how is everyone doing? not much different here. had my last u/s this past weekend. baby looks good and they are estimating he is about 3.7 pounds now.

JulieC - April 30

Well, I FINALLY moved. It's been chaotic but we are now in MD and trying to get settled and get the baby's room ready. I just ordered the crib and dresser, etc. It should be here in time, but if not, oh well. I will have a bassinet anyway. We were able to get into a childbirth class right away which was great and we are living close to the hospital.

The bad news is my new doc. says I did NOT pass their cut off for GD. They use 135 as the cut while my doc in NJ used 140 (my number was 137). So, I have to go for the 3 hour test. We'll see what happens.

Hope everyone is well!

good luck julie;

if you have any questions about gd i am here for you

wolffie - May 4

hi!

Julie - glad to hear the move went well! i bet if feels great to be getting settled...especially with arrival of the baby around the corner! when do you go for the 3 hour test?

lisa- how are you doing? everything going well?

i've been having some issues with my blood pressure. the doc is watching it but doesn't seem too concerned with it yet. my iron is also low so i have to take a supplement for that.

linzie and beth - i hope you're both doing well!

I took my 3 hour test on Friday and the office called me this morning to say I passed! Only one out of the four blood draws were over the limit and that was just by a little anyway. They just said watch my carbs and sugar but no need for the diet. It's going to be hard just to cut back though because I have really been craving the sweets!

I also have an ultrasound this friday. It's a growth scan(?) and I guess they schedule it for those of us "advanced" moms - meaning old! I'm just excited to get to see the baby again.

Anyone have their shower yet? Mine is the 17th. Should be fun.

Linzie - haven't heard from you in a while. I hope all is well and that your move went ok too.

Julie

wolffie - May 6

YAY Julie! I'm sure the 3 hour test was not fun!

Will this be your last u/s?

Lisa and Linzie will either of you have any more ultrasounds? i don't have any more.

I had one shower two weeks ago, hosted by my mom, and have a work shower tomorrow and my mother-in-law is hosting one on the 18th. i am figuring we should be set...everyone has already been so generous.

is everyone sleeping okay? i've been having trouble waking up a lot and horrible back aches in the morning.

Hi everyone!
Sorry, I was in Missouri visiting my mom and just got back today. I am doing really well. I passed the glucose tolerance test, thank goodness. My doctor has an u/s scheduled for me in 2 weeks so we are looking forward to seeing our boy!! I am still on daily antibiotics for the urinary tract infection I had, but it has not come back. Otherwise, I feel great despite being HUGE. People think I am having the baby any day now. I don't know how I can possibly get any bigger, but I am glad that I am still comfortable. I think that walking the dog 5 times a week has helped me. I do have a hard time turning over in bed, and I cannot believe my back is not hurting me.
As for showers, the girls are having one for me at work tomorrow, and then my mother-in-law is having one on the 17th-fun, fun!!
I am glad everyone is well...I am off to bed.
Take care, Linzie

Thank you so much for keeping everyone informed about me Beth...You were great to help out so much with me not having a computer up and running...However now I do have one so I can keep in touch...Gabriel is doing great...I can;t believe he turned 6 weeks on Saturday...Time sure does fly...He is beautiful and has a great disposition...He doesn't fuss much and has been sleep 4-6 hours in between bottles since we came home from the hospital...I have been blessed...

My birth story...Well I went in originally on Friday the 28th of March at 6:30 in the morning to be induced...They were so crowded that they sent all the scheduled c-sections and inductions home until 21 people could be discharged from the post partum unit and the ones in labor and delivery could be sent to the post partum unit...It was crazy...Well then at 1:30pm that same day I got a call to tell me to come back in at 3:30pm...So when we got back there they took me right in and at 4:30 they started the pitocin and I was 2cm at that point...They also broke my bag of waters and put a monitor on Gabriel's head to monitor his heartbeat because of my excess skin they were not able to get his heartbeat to register with the external monitor...Let me just say that that whole ordeal HURT!!!!...So a few hours later I got my epidural and was relaxing...My left side kept getting more and more numb because that was the side that I was laying on so he could better tolerate the contractions that I was having...So at around 6:30am they cheked me and I was 9cm and then shift change happened so they did not check me again until around 8:30am and I was 10cm and could start pushing...Well after about an hour of pushing Gabriel came out at 9:27am and weighed in at 7lbs 15ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long...He was wide awake and stayed that way until they took him to the nursery to get his first bath...Now my little man is 12lbs 2 ounces and almost 22 inches long...He loves to eat and it shows...I would love to send you all pictures...Anyone interested just drop me an email and I will send you his shutterfly album...

Well enough about me...How is everyone else...I have sooo missed you all!!!...Looking forward to catching up...Glad to see you all are still supporting and taking care of each other....Can't wait to hear all the interesting baby news....
