ICSI

Today I just finished my lupron, gonal and reponex injections, tonight I gave my Noveral trigger shot, Monday is the egg retrieval along with my husband....I figure by Wednesday they will do the invetro..does anyone know if that what happens when you do an ICSI?? Please someone give me hope that this time it will work.....I have never been on so many meds in my life..my husband is supportive, sister supportive, mom-not so supportive. She thinks that its time I stop. I know she means well, but I just want words of encouragement, maybe a little excitement from her wouldn't hurt. I just think she is still old school and thinks God had a plan for me..yea, and he had someone invent the drugs to get me there. Scared and worried that things are not going to work. Been there so many times.

Hi Wannabemom,

I had ICSI done back in March that is exactly what my schedule was I had the retrieval on a Monday and they did the transfer on Wednesday, I am not sure if you had IVF before but the entire process seemed rather easy I think for me the hardest part was all the injections like you mentioned...

If you retreival is Monday than you are correct if they are doing a 3 day transfer you would have it done on Wednesday, most people that have not gone through this themselves can not truly understand my dad was truly supportive but my mom was skeptical about the entire process I am now 18 weeks pregnant my mom now mentions everyday how proud she is that I never gave up hope after 2 yrs of trying to conceive....

I want to wish you the best of luck on Wednesday
Keep in touch!

good luck to you. hope all goes well. I've had 3 miscarriages, so I am hoping that this time doing the ISCI will work. I have a 8 year old (turning 9 this month) and a lot of people tell me that its to late to have another. That the age difference would make a difference to my daughter. I do not agree with them. I have 3 older siblings the 2 oldest are 10 and 9 years older than me. I always do things together with me sisters and I have never even thought the age difference would matter. I just can't imagine my daughter being alone. I want her to enjoy having siblings. I love my sisters very much, I rely on them as much as my husband. They are wonderful. I just want everything to go well. I am scared to hear those words..we have to go another round because it didn't take.!

You are absolutely right age difference does not matter what matters is that one day when were gone that are children have a sibling that they can count on, some thought I was crazy to want another at 41...

I am sorry to hear of your miscarriages I know how hard it must have been early on I had some complications and was told it could turn out either way so of course
I feared the worst.....

Did they really ever know what was causing the miscarriages did they have you on any type of progesterone support?

I have been through 8 failed IUI's and it was very frustrating 2 of those IUI's were done at a clinic that helped me conceive my daughter on 2 cycles of Clomid so when I went back to them and 2 cycles of clomid failed and 2 IUI's failed they really thought it was to late for me to conceive because at that time I was already 39.. I never gave up I found a new place near my home and after 6 failed IUI's they told me my best chances were IVF so thats what I did...

My advice to you is don't give up and always have faith
I will pray that everything turns out great and you receive your BFP!

I don't know much about ivf or ICSI. We have had 2 failed IUI's and we're moving onto a 3rd IUI, but I wanted to wish you lots of luck. I know this process is a crazy emotional cycle and I wanted to drop a note to wish you the best!

And about your comment on God's plan. I at one time thought that taking these meds and going through all this was interupting God's plan, but someone told me that no matter how your child is created (meds, IUI, ivf, etc) that God was the one that made that baby.
