My DH's SA shows
"7" in the %norm morphology
and
"Predominant defect: 84% Amorphous" as a note.
What does it mean? What are the chances of getting pregrant natuarly?
So far everything else shows as normal, except for my slightly elevated prolactin (33.2).
We were planning on having a clomid/IUI next month. Would our chances be good given the above "out of the normal range" results? Thank you.

If only 7% of the sperm have normal morphology, you have a male factor problem. It is possible that your husband had a fever or other illnes in the 3 months prior to collecting the specimen, or if he had not ejaculted in the week or more prior to providing the specimen, it would result in poor morphology. In either case, a second specimen 3 to 4 weeks after the first is advisable. He should not abstin more than 2 to 3 days before collecting. If the problem persists, seek a TRAINED sub specialist in male infertility. If no improvement is produced, you will probably need to inject his sperm into your eggs, or use donor sperm. Good luck.
