2 week wait - symptoms

I had 1 failed cycle due to fluid in my tube. I had the tube removed (had the other one removed prior due to ectopic) and a few months later did another IVF and got pregnant.

Jenny~ you are in my prayers today and I know things will go great at the u/s. Please keep us updated, you are an inspiration for so many on this board!

Eddie- how close to your beta test did you start testing at home? I am going crazy and not sure if I can hold out. But I am so afraid that if it is BFN that it will just make the last couple of days that much worse!

Red- I had asked about the progesterone and estradiol earlier too b/c mine flucuated a lot from the day of transfer to 3 days after. On Friday mine Progesterone was at 55 and estradiol at like 727.

MJ, I, too, am waivering about doing a HPT as I have to wait until Friday. I know there are no concrete symptoms as to whether someone is pregnant or not so I'm trying not to read too much into any of my pains or twinges! When did you have your transfer?

mj - August 6

Red, I had my transfer on 7/31, 2 fresh embies. My beta is on Thursday. I am going nuts b/c I am having cramping... it was AF type at first, now I don't know what it is but it is still there! I want to POAS so bad, I really think the HCG will be out of my system, I took it on 7/23 but if it is BFN then I will be even sadder so I am not sure what to do... could it be any more awful!!

Red - August 6

MJ, we transfered 2 fresh grade A, 8 cell embies on the 29th so we are definitely close in timing! I am a little concerned (as I might have previously mentioned) because we did a 3 day and I've heard negative things about that length of transfer rather than a 5 day (until Jamieleee provided a positive reply today). My estrogen and progesterone dropped on Friday also so I'm a little down. I have read both sides of taking a test early and can't decide what to do either. I've had some cramping today and my back has been achy but that's about it. Nothing I didn't have before when I had a chemical pregnancy. I know there are so many different ways to interpret all symptoms. I pray this is in God's plan for DH and I. This has been an emotional roller coaster and hopefully our prayers will be answered soon!

Hey guys, I NEED SOME SERIOUS ADVICE!!! I broke, I POAS.... I swore I wouldn't but I had one at home starring me in the face! I took my HCG trigger shot on the 23rd so today is 14 days from then. My test was POSITVE... but I am so afraid of how to interpret that... couldn't it still be from the shot, what do you think?? I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT!!! I want to be so excited but I know it could be totally wrong.

Red~ I have heard many BFP on 3 day transfers so don't worry plus it sounds like your embies were in great shape!! I know about the emotional roller coaster and you and your DH are in my prayers!

Red - August 6

MJ, You caved :o!! I don't know enough about HCG, but I am saying a prayer right this second for you that it is out of your system and the test is BFP!!! I guess I would be curious also what the info. is on the time it takes for the HCG to get out of your system. PLEASE let us know how things go. I normally don't have self-control but am so afraid of it being a negative so I'm kind of holding out. GOOD LUCK!!!

MJ - It is just fine that you broke - all of us do. I had my shot of HCG on the 10th of July. I had my transfer on the 16th and then on Saturday the 21st I POAS. Mine came up BFN. Then 5 days later I had a starting beta of 336. So there are generally more false negatives then there are false positives and the HCG injection is certainly out of your system in 14 days. So let me hopefully be the first to say congratulations mommy!!!!

Red - welcome and thank you for your kind words. Some people have better results with 3 day and some people have better results on 5 day. My RE I think just wanted to make sure this time and go the extra mile. I have a very close relationship so I think that he wanted to do that for me. I have heard that a 5 day transfer has higher success rates. But there are plenty of people that get pregnant on either transfer day. So it does not matter to much whether you had a 3 or 5 day transfer. Best wishes and baby dust to you as well.

Eddie, Kavita, and Christie - The u/s went awesome. The measurement is ony 2 days off of what it would be if I had conceived naturally. However, the sac is in a perfect place and all cozy and it looks perfect. Okay ladies. I have another u/s on the 16th to see the heartbeat. But I was truly relieved. Best wishes and I will talk to you all later

Red - August 6

MJ, well based on Jenny's post, it sounds like the test is a BFP!!! Again, I will pray for positive results.

Jenny, I am just concerned as I read so many negative articles about 3 vs. 5 day transfer. Our first IVF was a 5 day and resulted in a chemical pregnancy and this time they were developed to the point our dr. wanted to do a 3 day. I appreciate everyone's support and words of encouragement as we all know this is such an emotional roller coaster. Glad to hear your u/s went well and excited for you to hear your baby's heartbeat on the 16th!!

Red - not sure as to why they opted to go from a 5 day to a 3 day and not the other way around or stay at 5 days. The only thing that I have been told is that a 5 day weeds out all the ones that would not blast/hatch no matter what grade they are. However, it only takes one to make you pregnant and people have gotten pregnant with one grade 4 embie on a 3rd day transfer. I have not compared the 2 types of transfers very closely. I would not look as much as to 3 or 5 day as I woudl on how I feel and trying to stay positive. I have had both as well. My first IVF was in April and we transferred 2 grade A embies, 1 was 8 day and 1 was a 9 day cell. I also did bedrest only on the day of the transfer. This time I was scheduled for a 3 day transfer and then when I go there a room was not set up for me and I was told that we were going to wait. I went back in on MOnday for a 5 day transfer. Go more on your RE and how you feel. I am not sure the RE would not do anything against your best interests. Good luck and best wishes. Baby dust to you.

Jenny,

I have a question. What is a chemical pregnancy? I am just so worried that something will go wrong, because i still am not having any symptoms except sleepy sleepy sleep.

Hey Christie - thank you for your thoughtful post. I had to look up about a chemical pregnancy for myself as well. It seems as though it is when the egg implants but never goes any further then that. The only thing that shows you are pregnant is your HCG result. I just have the sore bbs constantly. I have constipation and nausea every other day. No cramping no headaches. I do sweat and get hot a lot in the evening when I am trying to sleep. You will be elated when you see your pregnancy on the u/s. It puts you in another world literally. I felt like I was the only one in the room. I mean oh my god what a difference something on the screen makes. I mean even though it is a sac I am in love with my baby. I can't wait to see the heartbeat next week. My fears have pretty much subsided. My first pregnancy never developed past the 3rd week but my numbers were that of a 6 week. Now for the first time everything is right on schedule. Life is perfect right now. You will see next week. Talk to you later.

Jenny,

I am sooo happy for you, but stop makeing me cry LOL LOL. I cant wait was your DH able to be there with you? My DH cant wait either. This will be his first child. I have two boys that are 15 and 13 so they are all grown up. In 2002 we were told we were pragnant and i can still remember the look on my husbands face he was so excited. Then it ended in a tubal prag. I spent a week in the hospital because of loose of blood. Then when we went to the doctor for the follow up he said that he removed the tube that had the tubal and the other tube did not look good. So we thought children where going to be out of the question. We lost my Mother in law in December and that was the one thing that she wanted was to see my DHs child. So we started going to the doctors. The first IVF failed i think because of a hydrosalspinks. So i decided to have it removed. The doctor refered me to a cancer specialised because he was affraid that i had too much scar tissue. The surgery which i had in May was no problem. So then we tryed this time with frozen transfer. I am just rambling, but i am so affraid something will go wrong. My DH says to stop worring that everything will be fine. Well i am so excited for you. Have a great day up on cloud 9!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,

I had my second IUI yesterday, so I am back on the dreaded 2WW! I am really worried that it won't work. Last time we did the IUI, my husbands sperm count was 29 million and had a progression on 3 and it didn't work - well, this time, the count was only 17 million and the progression was 2! I am so worried and disappointed! We can really only afford to do one more IUI after this, if this one fails so I am PRAYING that I get pregnant this time!
Congrats to all of u with BFPs, I hope that I can join u there soon!
