Hi girls
Update on me.Went to see my RE today.Boy,was he ever sensetive to us today :o!Anyway,he did not joke around and scedule me for more testing ,not because he thinks something wrong, but to illiminate this kind of problems ::).Here is what i'll be tested for:
anti-thrombin-3
protein C
proteinS
lupus anticoagulant
plasminogen activator inhibitor(what the hell is this?! ???I have to do my homework today)
cardiolipin antibody
chromosomes,peripheral blood
Is there any more tests left for me?!
Lyly,I know you've done some of them.
Well ,we set the dates and my FET is going to be mid. June :-\because 1) he wants me to wait 3 month after what happened,2)we need time for the testing-some of them take up to 3 weeks,3)they put me on bcp and than Lupron.I asked if this is necessary(lupron) and he said yes and he strongly belives that they have to complitelly control my cycle to prepare everything right.
So ,as much as I want it to be tomorrow morning...we have to be PATIENT... >:(
May be I'll take a short trip back home in Ukraine,"to heal my wounds"
how is everybody else doing?

Marina,

Wow thats alot of testing. Is it all bloodwork? At least the doc was prepared to try and figure out what happened. I know June is a long time to wait, but it will pass quickly, especially if you take a trip to the Ukraine. I'm sure it would be nice to see everyone at home.

Keep us posted, you are in my thoughts and prayers

Hi girls,

I had my first u/s today and its a singleton! I asked the doctor to check again just to be sure even though i suspected it was only one and had told dh as much. It was just a blob on the screen but a beautiful blob :D. It measured 18.5mm and we heard the heartbeat...dh and i started to cry when we heard it. The doctor said everything looks good and gave us a due date of Nov 16! I am so relieved!!!! :)

i was also quite surprised that they didnt even bill me for this visit - not even the u/s! :o

Marina...i know a thing or two about the cardiolipin antibody test and what it means since i tested positive for it and as a result i have to take clexane shots (blood thinner) throughout my pregnancy. There is some information on this and some of the other tests you mentioned under the Fertilily Testing section of this website. I am sorry you have to wait until June but i think doing the tests may gave you a better chance of success the next time.

Lyly, i understand your frustration but hang in there and do whatever you need to do....may will be here before you know it.

Marina- I have had most of those tests plus more. I am not sure what the plasminogen activator inhibitor is. I have never been tested for that one. Have they tested you for blood factor genes like factor V or MTHFR gene mutation? I know it stinks to wait, but better to get checked now then to go through that again (if you can find something then you take precautions next time). I am getting so anxious, I am physically fine and we know all my issues so I am not feeling so patient wait for the lab. I was really hoping that if this FET didn't work to do a fresh cycle by june or july but I guess I just have to wait and see. So did they start you on BCP already? As far as the lupron each dr. feels differently about it

Reshma- Thanks for your support. The first u/s with the heartbeat is so exciting. I am glad to hear things are going well for you. I forget, is this your first pg?

Ronda- How are you feeling? Wow it looks like you and Reshma have the same due date!

RB - April 7

Yes, this is my first pregnancy so it's all very exciting and a little scary and it certainly looks like Ronda and i are really going though this togeher...all the way to the delivery room! :)

Reshma, I also went for my ultrasound today and my results were Twin #1 18mm 8w2d and hb of 154, the lagging one(Twin #2) is still going strong at 13mm 7w3d and a hb of 150. I go in two weeks (I will be 10 weeks then) for a follow up to see if the lagger with the enlarged yolk sac is still there or if it has vanished or whatever. My first ob visit is this Wed. for the bloodwork etc. That is excellent you could hear the heartbeat. I am hoping for that the next time. We have "seen" the heartbeats on both thus far so that is pretty neat. I know what you mean about the blobs...they are beautiful :D They gave me a due date of Nov. 16-19ish if it ends up being a singleton, if there are two then I will go in late October. Time will tell. The waiting is always so tough.

Marina and Lyly, hang in there. I know how it feels to wait. Before this IVF in Feb., our last was in July. You are both in my thoughts and I'm here to offer any support I can.

How are you Ronda? hope things are going well.

Lisa,

that is great that both babies are hanging in there. You have an OB appointment already? Wow, I won't see an OB until I am in my second trimester. Our baby blobs are so beautiful!!!!!!!

Lyly,

hang tight girl. I know May seems like an eternity, but your frozen embies are there waiting for you. Just starting having lots and lots and lots of sex with dh. You might as well have some fun until then. Then remind dh when he has to give a sample to suck it up produce....he got to have alot of fun the prior month! Heehee.

Hey girls!thank you all for your kind words and your support.Well, hopefully soon we'll join you .And for now I 'll try to get busy with my garden and decorating our new pool we put in last year.Hopefully time will go fast?not like endless dragging in the winter. We live in Minnesota and winter this year was really LONG and cold.I hate it .Why we didn't move in Florida when we had a chance?
I'm glad that Ronda and Reshma and Lisa doing good!
Best wishes to everybody!

vw79girl - April 8

Marina, I live in NH and we had the worst winter the Northeast has seen in years. I am so glad we can actually see the ground. We bought a house in August so I am anxious to do a little gardening and make our little yard look nicer. My Aunt lives in Naples for the winter. I wish I could have gone there April vacation but I was in the middle of my IVF cycle. Hang in there and keep busy! You will be joining us real soon :)

RB - April 8

Hi girls,

Sorry to rub it in but i live in the Caribbean where we have sunshine and warm weather all year round :D You are welcome to pay me a visit anytime you want to get away from the cold!!!

Reshma

vw79girl - April 8

Reshma, you bum! haha, I am envious! I cannot wait until next month when the weather gets warmer and I can get a little sun. Skin always looks better with a little bit of sunshine kissing it. :) Have you lived there long?

~Lisa

lyly14 - April 8

Ronda- I definitely have the stronger sex drive than dh, so it is doubtful that he will be happy to have tons of sex! He is much more relaxed this time because he doesn't have to do anything. They don't need a sample this time because all my eggs are fertilized and waiting to be transfered. Its just a matter of time, but I am okay waiting for now. I have been through many setbacks so I am not giving up now.

Marina- I looked up your plasminogen activator inhibitor and I remember having that done. It was listed as PAI and a number 1 or 2. I have to check my bloodwork but I think I came up positive for that, but not sure what is means

Reshma- Where in the caribbean are you? Be careful telling everyone they are welcome, you may just get some visitors :)

vw79girl - April 8

Lyly,
you have the right idea, don't ever give up. Our IVF in Feb. was the last one for our program and we couldn't afford any more. We had faith that it would work out and thankfully it did after the long and winding road we had been down. Stay positive! We are all pulling for you! :)

RB,

the Caribbean? How lucky are you!!. I wouldn't offer too much about visiting, you may have a bunch of hormonal women hanging out in the sunshine with you.

Lisa,

New Hampshire is so pretty, but wow you did have some winter this year.

Marina,

Minnesota, wow, you have some doozys of winter
weather too!.

lyly,

yeah I guess dh doesn't have to give a sample this time with the embies waiting. Thats kinda of a bummer, we women get the brunt of the whole thing.......however it is so worth it! Are you going to transfer 2 or 3 embies?

Its so interesting to hear where everyone is from. I am from Indiana and we had a rough winter here too. I cannot wait to get out and play in the dirt! My dd wants to plant a veggie garden this year, I've only ever done flowers, so it should be interesting. Ok, gotta go, morning sickness is pushing into afternoon!

Ronda

Marina - April 8

You,guys! ;D
What's going on here?Did I miss something?are we all moving to the Caribbean? 8)I'm first in line! :D
Does somebody talking about sex? What exactly sex is-don't remember! ::) After all ,I don't remember when we had a REAL sex last time :-[.My DH is so worry about whole thing, that sex is the last thing on his mind(first we were living on a schedule before IVF,than we got PG,so no sex for the first 3 months, than I had m/s)
Thanks guys for worrying about me,i didn't even look up info about all these tests yet(I know they all related),I'm so tierd of invistigating everything, that I just let it be for a while, will see what they come up with and then I'll worry...
