Hi Lisa
I dod the iui day 13 and 14- my period came a lil earlier than usual last month. The Dr checked the first time to see if the follie was still there and it was but not the 2nd time. You would think she would but... I took the hcg trigger the day b4 at 3:30 and the iui the next day close to 2. This is my 5th so I have no exspectations. I don't think I am going to even take a test until it is way late bc I hate the disappointment. Plus my periods are usually on the longer side. I am craping slightly too so... I start IVF next month and am already feeling the stress of it and I have not started it yet. I am day 15 from my first iui and haven't spotted like I normally would but I think menses will be bit later since it was a bit earler last month. The only thing I hope and pray for these days is strength- and lots of it. I hope it goes your way this time around. Do you by chance know what the aveerage cost of IUI is? I have ins but when it is out- it is out- and that scares me.

Traci!
Sending you lots of strength girl. Hang in there. We did 4 IUI's and this is our 2nd IVF. Before that we had tried for 3 years with nothing. Our first IVF was successful but then I lost it soon after(chemical pregnancy :( ) I am hoping this time it works again and is successful. My beta number started out low and kept on dropping. I paid @ $200 each for IUI's but the cost actually went down to like $150 I believe. I live in NH and have Anthem Ins. but it doesn't cover IVF or IUI's. but does cover bloodwork, meds and ultrasounds.
sticky glue to you too!

Hi All,
I know I mentioned how upsetting it was to hear my sister become pregnant. Though I was thrilled for her it was hard. However, what is even harder is to find out she just lost it. She went to the Dr on Wednesday and all was great and confirmed and the next day she flew out to the Bahamas. There she cramped and bled and lost it. To say the least it has been a very emotional week. Today is Mothers Day and I figure what the hey- let me test- and I saw 2 lines. I thought I would be overjoyed and beside myself when this day came but I was very calm and like -ok I think I am pregnant. I am sending my husband out to get another test to see. It is 18 days after my fifth iui.
Happy hopeful thoughts to all.

OMG!!!!! congrats girl I would say you are pregnant, I am so sorry about your sister. It is strange what we are dealt in life, you were so convinced that it hadn't worked. When are you going for a blood test.

As for me I am in beta hell, my betas are still rising but they can't see anything in the uterus, so I had another one this morning and have another u/s today then if still nothing surgery this afternoon. Can't believe it. the shit thing is I feel pregnant, big boobs, tired, nauseous and oh very annoyed at everything.

Will see how it pans out. Trababy that is such great news.

Thanks Eddie,
I had my acupuncture today and she said all looks good- I am not really sure how much she would know but... Today was the first day I was truly relaxed there- I think I even fellasleep- not deeply but enough, it wsa nice. I am 18 days past iui and 2 pos tests. I go for blood work on Wednesday and won't get the results until Thurs. Eddie, how many wks do you think you are? What would the operation be for if they don't see anything? That sucks to have great #'s and symptoms yet no reassuremnet (is that a word:) Keep me posted. Yah I def. didn't think this would work, I was ready to go the IVF route. There was no way I could keep positive anymore so that really helped to stop thinking about it as much (as much as I could anyway) I don't have any symptoms except no period. Not that I am complaining but I find it odd. Good luck with everything. Take care

I posted on one of these forums a while back after my 1st IUI cycle, which didn't work. I went through my 2nd IUI cycle and found out yesterday that one didn't work either. We're going to do a 3rd cycle and regroup with our RE if that one doesn't work, but I am really beginning to get discouraged and am wondering if anything will work. Thing is, I had 100mg Clomid for both IUIs and was able to get multiple, good-sized (20+) follicles each time - 3 on the 1st and 4 on the 2nd. I had HcG shot to trigger for the 1st and the 2nd they let me surge naturally. I am in the unexplained camp and every test on us has been fine, so I am really wondering and worring why this isn't working and am scared that nothing will work. I was encouraged to see the last post and that it worked on the 5th IUI cycle. I know that I should be more optimistic and not as scared but it's hard.

LMD,

I feel your pain. I am at the tail end of my 2ww for my 3 IUI and feel my period coming - the only reason it is not coming is b/c I am on progesterone suppositories. I wish I knew why it didn't work. My last cycle was my best performance yet. At trigger time I had 6 follies 4 that were definitely going to mature at O time. I didn't even bother wasting money on a pregnancy test b/c I am that sure AF is on her way. I test on Thursday.

Oops, it looks like I accidently hit the post button twice.

Thanks lbc220. You know, that's exactly how I felt about buying a pregnancy test this go-around since I had no symptoms, etc. I totally didn't want to do one/spend $ to confirm what I already knew. It turned out I had a free one that came in the box with the ovulation kits as some sort of promotion so I used that. Good luck to you on your test.

Hi Lmd
I know how hard it is to stay positive. After a while I just gave up thinking that the 5th iui will never work. I too barely tested bc I got so used to my period being right around the corner. I tested positive 18 days after iui (I had two one after another) I had not one symptom- the occational cramp but nothing seemingly out of the ordinary. I din't start spotting as I normally would and on Mothers Day I couldn't resist testing. It was positive so later that night I took another and got a pos. Tomorrow I go for bloodwork. It all hasn't sunk in yet. In the middle of doing these iui's I had a hysteroscopy and I started drinking green tea and going to acupuncture. I know it is probaby just good timing that worked but I felt the more I could do the better the chances. B/c this was my 5th I was moving onto IVF nest and I was really more focused on being pos w that. It helped to know that there is still a way...
Take it easy

Hi Traci,

I know I followed you all the way through the 27 pages of this topic. I read ahead to see if it ever worked. I was so happy for you that after the 5th time you are pg.

Today is day 25 of my cycle and 13 dpo and I saw a very slight pink tint when I went to the bathroom. So with my cramps and that I think I was not lucky the third time. I thought for sure this time would work being that everything was perfect and one of my girlfriends passed away a few weeks ago and I had convinced myself she would look over me.

My re wants to go to IVF next b/c he is racing against the clock (I turn 40 in Feb.) I think that is a huge number for the RE's. I am fine with it as long as my ovaries are too - I am so nervous about my egg quality.

Anyway, I guess we wall venture ahead thinking it will never happen and hoping deep inside that it will. I still even have a glimmer of hope now that even though my head knows it is over. My issue is also that I lose a month inbetween every cycle b/c I always have cysts!!!

I also did acupuncture during this cycle which was another thing I hoped would work. The wierd thing is since my late 20's I always had this feeling that I would have to IVF.....I guess I was right.

Hi Traci,
First congrats! I was really encouraged after reading your story and it's giving me hope to hang in there and have a better outlook about the whole thing. Part of it for me is that I think this cycle was hard for me - I got food poisoning the night before the 1st IUI which I am sure didn't help, not to mention a really good friend of mine who got pg without trying just had a baby.

Hopefully the 3rd will be a charm. I think for this try they are going to keep me on 100mg Clomid but mix in something else - FSH maybe.
