Hi all of you mommy-to-be's!!

I am not at the point that you are yet, but I am just curious if any of you could share if you had ANY symptoms of a BFP before you did the blood test??
I am in the awful 2ww off of an IVF cycle and I test next Monday. This wait seems sooooooooo long.
Also, did any of you feel nothing at all and then got a BFP? I know everyone is different, I am just wondering. :) Congratulations and may you all have beautiful, healthy babies!!

HI,
I think the only thing I noticed was I was urinating a bit more. I usually get up once at night and during week prior to my bloodtest, I was getting up two or 3 times. I just thought I was drinking too much. Other than that, I felt pretty normal. I know the wait is very long, but you'll make it.
Best of Luck

Hi Shannon -

Tired, tired and more tired that is what I felt and the big sore bb's however this I think was more progesterone related then preg. I woke up on cd 8 extremely tired, I just felt like laying around all day which is not normal for me at all. The next day the same thing, finally the next day cd 10 I did an hpt and got a positive. I was not scheduled for my beta test for 4 more days. I did 3 more hpt's that all came back postitive in the course of 24 hours and finally called for a blood test. It came back positive.

Hope this helps some.
Best of luck to you. I will keep my fingers crossed and hopefully the rest of your wait will go a little faster for you.

Take care,
Liz

tired, frequent urination, pain& twinging on my left side, sore bb's --but like liz it could have been b/c of progesterone (haven't stopped hurting since!)
& you're gonna think i'm crazy but I had a weird 10 hour severe cold/allergy attack (probably unrelated but I have read other people have had same thing & I never get allergies!)
twoweekwait.com posts tons of pre BFP side effects & then pee stick photos...I spent a lot of time there!
good luck!!!!

Oh & I forgot the WORST side effect I had at about 12dpo onward-- headaches..lots of bad headaches (still have them!)

Thanks ladies for your responses!
I have been pretty tired and my stomach looks like I am already 5 months pregnant!! (My RE said my ovaries are like grapefruits right now, so I guess that would explain it!) The bloatedness is really uncomfortable, but I will definitely live with it if it means a BFP!!

Thanks again for sharing your experiences!

Shansy -

The fact your ovaries are so large could have something to do with the fact you look like you are 5 months pregnant. I just found out the other day I have 3 cysts and my ovaries are swollen. They told me that is probably why I am so bloated and look 3 month pregnant at times. For me it comes and goes, one min I look really pg then by the morning it goes away.

Good luck to you, I am crossing my fingers for your BFP!

Thanks again for your responses...this 2ww is such a mindgame, it is driving me crazy! I test on Monday, but have had on/off spotting (very light) for the past two days. Just curious if any of you had spotting as well before your BFP's? It is not a lot, but has been light red at times, so I am very nervous...

Shansy-

I know you are testing today, I wanted to wish you the best of luck.

I personally have never had spotting.

I am crossing my fingers for you.
Let us know how you are making out.

Take care,
Liz

Hi everyone,

Well I got the call and it is a BFP, however there is a big BUT in this...the nurse said my level is at 57 and they wanted it around 100 or higher, so she said to be cautiously optimistic but it might end in miscarriage. I am so conflicted in how to feel...I just started crying when she said this. I am to go back on Friday for another test and by then they want the levels in the 200's...

Can anyone relate or does anyone know of anyone who went through this???

Thanks.

Shansy -

Congrats on your BFP! That is great news. Although I do see that it also comes with some concern.

I must admit I am not familiar at all with lower hcg levels. What day are you at right now? I was 11 dpo when I had my betat done and the number was 98. I had done some research at the time trying to see how that number was and from everything I read it really does vary for each women. I also found that there were not real statistics of hcg levels at such an early stage, usually they started at 14 dpo or so.

I can completly understand how you must feel emotionally right now. Hearing that the preg you have been trying so hard to achieve could end in a m/c is enough to scare the heck out of anyone.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and keep my fingers crossed you and your little one will be just fine.

Take care and let us know how you are doing.

Hi Liz,

Thank you for responding...I guess I am 15dpo if you count o as retrieval date??? I had my retrieval on August 6th and the transfer on August 9th. Would that be correct?

Thanks for the website Liz, although it doesn't seem too promising for me- I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Shansy-

I know you see the down side and righfully so, but please try to keep you head up and think positive. Maybe you little one just needs a couple more days. Friday is your next beta, try to relax and think positive.

Our bodies are truly amazing. No matter how well science has become it is still a small mystery. I try to look at it as if anything can happen.

Keep postive and feel free to write as often or as little as you like. I know the next couple of days are probably going to be longs ones for you.

Take care of yourself,
Liz

Shansy,

I've been catching up on the postings. I looked back at my HCG numbers with my DD, now 19 mths old, and my first HCG reading was 68. I got the same response from my Dr. But the next two tests, two days apart, showed the numbers rising as appropriate. With my 2nd pregnancy the first HCG beta was 670! So the thinking is the implantation with the first pregnany happened later. I too had spotting for almost a week when they were doing the beta. With the 2nd pregnancy I had just a onetime notice of spotting on day 6 - which I think was implantation, and that was on the early side. So really.... gosh, it is such a mystery. All I can say, and what I've spent so much time, reading and talking myself through is it is out of your hands, out of our control. This is the mystery of life that we can't really do anything about. Just keep postive and realistic thoughts. Of course the nurses have to be overly cautious, that's their job. Do share with us how you are doing. Sending lots of healthy, growing baby thoughts.
Something to feel good about is just the fact that you got a BFP!

Liz & Shdy Grove 2-

Thank you so much for your responses, they have made me feel better about what the nurse said. Shdy Grove- it is great to hear that you had a similar number and ended up with a successful pregnancy...those are the kinds of things that definitely make me calm down when I read them. So thank you for sharing that!!

The more and more I have read and talked to others, the more I have found out that my number is not that bad and that it is not that unusual either. I suspect that I did implant late as my spotting ended the day before my BETA. I have not had any since. I also have been getting a bit more nauseated on/off starting yesterday so I feel that perhaps the hCG is just now kicking into gear and making me feel some symptoms.

I will post with the news when I receive it, until then I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed!!

Congrats on your BFP's!!!
