Alexa,
wow so you sure are inlcuded in our spicy food menu..lol
So you are having another c-section done ha. Well that is good. I have one question for you, that I always wonder about?
When you have a schedule c-section how do they prepare you? Do you get to feel those labor pains? Or is it just you go in they get you prepared and take the baby out without feeling anything I mean like those labor pains?

I was told by one girl I know that she had a c-section schedule and they induce her those labor pains and she did feel them even though she was having a c-section is that true? I was always wondering that.

So then you will have the baby earlier than me that is good.
Sorry to ask you also but how long apart are you having your doctor's appointments?
I am just wondering because this time my doctor wants to see me in 2 weeks, she was given them to me every 3 weeks and now she changed to 2 weeks, don't know if she got missed up or what but I am wondering and will ask her next time I go. For me is good because I get to hear my baby everytime I go so thatis great :) but like I said I was just wondering......

Have a great night..

Hi Lili,

Those are great questions I have no idea with my daughter my water broke at 2:00am go figure..LOL
by the time I headed to the Hospital it was around 3:30am and my contractions started before I got there..

They gave me an epidural pretty much right away as I was waiting to reach the point to push my babies heartrate would drop it got to the point where the
my OB thought it was safer to do the C-section ....

So this time around I had the choice to go either way but there is a chance for uterine rupture it isn't a high chance but I don't want to risk it...

So I don't know what to expect I will ask at my OB to my understanding I think they just give you an epidural and then do the C-section I don't think they put you into labor first...I will fill you in on that when I find out..

My appts are every month still you are so lucky if you get to go every 2 weeks it will make the pregnancy go by faster I won't start going every two weeks till October I think its usually 2 mths before the due date...

Have a nice day :)

Lili-I guess i'm too new at this but i'm confused, why doesn't your dr do the u/s. i am 12w4d i has a u/s when i got my bfp 10w1d and i get another at 13w1d for some 1st trimester screening that measures the density of the neck to check for birth defects etc. do the u/s drop off the later you get in the pg? is it my dr? is it your insurance? are you in the US? thanks for helping me. ohh, if i wanted to go and get an u/s with the tape and everything like i've read about for $25 how do i find a place like that?

Mickey,
I would say it is my insurance that doesn't do alot of u/s unless it is a high risk pregnancy. I did had an u/s done at 14 weeks and it might take a few more months until I have another one.
I know this u/s place called ultrasound services it is in california. I don't know if they have them around the u.s but I will ask when I go there tomorrow and let you know. Maybe search on the web and see if you can find an u/s place where you can have them for cheap.

Good Luck.
I will let you know if there are any other places where they provide this. By the way where do you live?

Have a great weekend.

Lili - I'm in Md. right between Dc and Baltimore so I have access to both cities.
I think it would drive me nuts if I has to wait months and months between u/s. I can see why you are so excited to go pay to have one done. I think I may do that just to get the tape. After a quick search I found a 3D place that cost $90 - $290.WOW! not for me! I can't wait for tuesday for my 1st trimester screening. Is this what you had done at 14 weeks? do you know what the neck density tests for exactly, does everyone have this done, do you know why they're testing me for this? my first u/s the heartrate was 188/min. they said it was a bit high but better high than low. i think up to 170 is normal. do you know what causes high heart rate?
sorry about all the questions.

lili246 - July 27

Mickey,
Sorry I don't know any of your answers. I would of help you if I knew. I just had a regular u/s done to confirm my due date. Is the screening something different?
I know they do 3D u/s aswell but yeah they cost alot.
This place where I go they only give you the sex of the baby, your due date and show you the body parts of your baby they give you pictures and the tape. That is a cheap price and yeah I decided to go now since I don't know when I am going to have another u/s done at my doctor's office. I couldn't wait so I am going to this place and I will be back but not until I am very close to my due date. I am very excited and yeah you know why.

I will ask if there are any other places where they do this and see if there is anything close to you ok.

Take care

Alexa -
include me in on the spicy food also! ;D

Question though, I love mexican, tex-mex, el salvadorian, etc. food. BUT... I'm alergic to onions, they make me really sick. :-X I can usually take a zantag before and after and fight through the rest of the symptoms. Does anyone know if we're allowed to have zantag. i've been avoiding it but getting really sick due to the salsa intake. :o

Alexa - July 27

Hi Mickey,

Not sure if you can have Zantag or not I know you can have tums you would really have to ask your OB....
sorry I can not answer that for you...

The neck density is used to see if the baby is at risk for Trisomy and also they look to see if the baby can open and close the hands Trisomy babies can not open there hands....they also look at the babies features eyes, nose etc..which can tell them alot too for other birth defects....hope this helps.

Ladies have a nice weekend!

Alexa

mickey - July 27

Alexa - i've never heard of trisomy, is this common? :-\

lili246 - July 27

Hey Alexa and Mickey,
Are those, like special test they do? I mean our OB have to decide if we need to have that done or how is that determine?
