Marina -

I have found the docs and nurses at my facility to be cold too. I had a follicle burst in me the night of my retrieval and the doc just told me to take motrin - didn't even suggest it could have burst. They never tell me anoything when they call - never gave me my E2 numbers unless I asked - when they called to tell me I was pregnant they didn't tell me my HCG levels - I had to ask. I called them today to ask if I should be taking prenatals - they said yes.. but I wouldn't have taken them if I hadn't known because they don't tell me anything!!!!

So, I understand how you feel.

Julie

Yea,realy, what whould we do without internet ,forums like this ,and kind doctors who answer all our questions instead our own docs whom we pay alot of money...

So I did my second beta and my numbers only went up to 83. They didn't even double which is making me a bit wooried. I test again in 4 days rather than a week because they are concerned.

Julie,don't panic.My nurse told me 60% is ok too.Don't give up.We don't know what's going on there.Sometimes it's late implantation.
How many embrios did you transfer?

Marina - December 15

Jena, sorry to hear that. What your doc say?Does insurance cover IUI?How many?I've read some of ur posts about DH sperm not so good.Well, from what I know(we have the same, only much worse) even if they put you bh now on some meds(or vitamins) to increase sperm count,it will take 3 months for a change in his department(it takes 72 days for a new sperm to develop).Does he take any meds for this? May be you guys should take a nice Christmas vacation and start trying again in Jan ::)

Hi julie-sorry it has been a little while since I have been on. I finally got my laptop back! It looks like your numbers almost doubled. Were the two betas exactly 48 hrs apart or about that. Maybe that is why they didn't exactly double. Is your RE concerned? I know it is hard not to worry but try not to worry so much about the numbers. When do you go back for another blood test and u/s?
As for me, I got AF after stopping the bcp now I have to wait for the 26th to go in for a u/s to see how the cyst is doing. Not knowing when I can try the IVF again is hard. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you. I am so sorry that this is such a time of uncertainty. You should be so happy, but I know how hard it is. I remember my last pregnacy I was so worried about losing the baby and just when I was starting to feel like I was almost out of the woods I lost it. Pregnacy can be so exciting and so nerve racking at the same time. Unfortunately all you can do is wait and see. I am praying for you and your little one to stay strong. Sending you lots of baby dust and prayers.

Hi Julie- how are you holding up? I just wanted to check up on you and tell you I was thinking about you. I hope all is well with you and your little one!

Jenna-Sorry to hear about your bfn, but glad to hear you are going to try another round. Did you go in for your baseline u/s yet? You are doing clomid with IUI right?

Marina- Congratulations on your little bundle. How are you feeling? This whole infertility and treatments are so stressful, I hope you are finding time to relax now that you are prego. I know that is not easy to do. I went back and read your posts. I am going to do IVF with ICSI also. We were supposed to have finished already but I developed a cyst and the cycle was cancelled befored I started stims. This was your first IVF with ICSI right? What other treatments did you try before this? After four rounds of clomid and one with gonal-f all with timed intercourse we did a sa on dh. My dh's sa was pretty bad so we skipped over the IUI and are going straight for the IVF with ICSI. I am praying it works for us!

Lucky- how are you doing? Did you go for your egg retreival yet?

Hi lyly,
nice to meet you!I noticed you and Julie are separete team on this forum and came to say hi ...
I'm sorry to hear about your delay, but unfortunately shit happens. You right, this treatments are more stressful in real life than I ever could imagine.I can say I went thru this with my best friend last year and thru all her pregnancy(ended up in having beautiful healthy twins,by the way,who now dont let her relax even a moment) and all the side effects, but it's different when you doing this yourself.
I've read all your posts too, sorry for your relatives...sounds like sometimes it's not a bad thing to be the only child in the family!(lol)
This is my 1st treatment,When we decided to have a child and tried a couple of months,I didnt want to waste time(I'm 37 and my dh 50) and my doc sent me to check my tubes-surprise!They were blocked.About sperm we found out only when started our 1st IVF-so, it was only way to go-IVF with ICSI.So,here we are.
I hope ,Julie will get better results today,I know this is a tourture wait from one test to another-takes all joy away.

Hi lucky- I am doing okay. I am on hold right now waiting for the okay to try the IVF. This wait is so difficult. At least with the 2 week wait you know when it is going to end. I have no idea when this cyst is going to go away and when we can try the IVF again. I am sorry to hear about your experience with the retreival, but you never know. Julie had a pretty rough time with hers too and now she is pregnant. I am hoping her numbers continue to go up and she has a successful pregnancy and praying you will have yours too. That really stinks that they will only transfer 1 embryo. We are planning to put in 2, but I have heard that many of the countries outside of the united states have stricter regulations and limit to single transfers. When do you go in for the transfer? Are they doing a 3 day or a 5 day blast? Wishing you the best.

Marina-It is always nice to hear from other people and what they have been through- good or bad. It helps to know there are people in the same/similar situation and that some really do find success. You are so right. Shit does happen. Oh well so now I wait, the holidays probably wasn't the best time to be doing all this anyway, but I had been waiting since august. Between insurance and setup it felt like it took forever to get to the IVF. I see from your ticker that you have one little one in there. How many embryos did you transfer? When is your next u/s?

Marina - December 17

Lyly,we took a risk and put only one embrio,I was terrified of posiibility having twins(i'm 5'2 and 105lb) and I have 12years old son,so we'd be happy to have only one more. It's funny,I had about 40 eggs retrieved,25 of them fertilized and 14 made it to blasts!I could of share with many people who need them...We frozed the rest of them.
I have my 8 week U/S on Dec.26.
did your insurance cover IVF?We paid $15000....

mo - December 18

Well ladies,

My egg retrieval was on the 13th, last Thursday. 20mins, an allergic reaction and lots of pain meds later, they had 19 eggs retrieved, 17 of which were mature, and 12 fertilized. All 12 have made it to the blast stage (day 5 retrieval) and tomorrow Dec 18th I have my embryo transfer.

I'm anxious, excited, nervous, slightly worried, eating my face away...I'm glad it's being done around the holidays so i will be distracted for a few weeks.

Prayers ladies, prayers please.

Thank you

lyly14 - December 18

Marina- My insurance does cover IVF, and I am grateful, but it does not cover the ICSI. In comparison to those like you who do not have coverage it is a small price to pay, but the ICSI at our clinic is very expensive $2705. I also have a child she is 9 yrs old from a previous relationship. I wouldn't mind twins, but no more than that. We chose to put 2 embies in , but my clinic does not grow them to blast, they do 3 day transfers. I am okay with transfering 2 , but dh thought we should do 3 to increase our odds. Luckily the RE said with my age and the fact that this will be the first 2 would be best, not 3! 40 eggs is unbelievable! So you have 13 frozen blasts? If you don't mind me asking what do you plan to do with the unused embies? Dh and I were not exactly in agreement about that. He feels if we are fortunate to have extra we should donate them to an infertile couple. Theoretically it is wonderful to help someone else out, but I am not so sure I would want our biological child floating around. It would be nice to help others in our situation, but I am just not so sure. I also go for my u/s on the 26th, hopefully I will get good news and my cyst will be gone and we can try again. I have a feeling it may take a while to go away, since it was so big. Anyway your baby should start to look like a real human and you should see the heartbeat at your next visit. How exciting!

Mo that is great news- lots of baby dust to you!

Marina - December 18

Lyly, we plan on keeping all embies untill I have my baby, and than-we haven't decide yet.If everything ok-I'm not planing on having more kids.I would donate them gladly(I have no problem with this if it can make some couple happy),but I don't think I'm a good candidate for this-I'm 37(I thhink they don't want anybody older than 35) and my husbands sperm wasnot good at all-thats why we did ICSI. All embies made it to blasts, but who knows what happens after throwing?
Did they put you on antibiotics for you cyst?
