Hi, everyone. I've been reading this site for a while now and this is my first time posting!

To conceive my first child I went through all the tests, 12 IUI and ,thank g-d conceived twins after my first IVF cycle. They were born premature and at 8 weeks my oldest son died for no apparent reasons.(bloated stomach, intestinal damage,...)
My son is now 2 and 3 months and my DH wants me to starts treatments again. Im VERY reluctant. I guess once you know what it all means it's even harder to jump back in... Im dead scared. :-\

I geuss I want you to tell me thats its not that hard etc.. What were your experiences when starting to try after your first?

How long did you wait?
Thanks for listening and it seems a great site!!

Hi Helen,

What a heartbreaking experience you have endured....It is scary getting back into it. I have a 5 year old girl concieved after 6 IVF attempts. It took me along time to have the courage to go back but once I was into it, it wasnt so bad. I am now 6 weeks pregnant so it was all worth it.....

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Helen 22 - I am so sorry for your loss. start the process when you are ready. This is always easier on the guys. My hubby wanted me to try to get pg 1 month after my m/c and I said no. Take care and good luck.

Helen I am sorry for your loss. I have done three cycles. I jumped back into my second way too fast. It was a few months after the first. I could tell my body and head wasn't ready and it was really hard on me. This third I gave a year or so break and it is the only one I think i might have a chance on working. This cycle was so much less stress because of the break. I went out had fun let my body get better and started with no fear and a much better attitude. Good luck let mo know what you decide?

Helen,

Well, I understand how DH feels, but I am MORE than understanding of how you feel.

I am currently pregnant with our first after a long battle with infertility, and one day on the way home from one of my myriad doctor's appointments, I called DH and said that this was it. I told him I was EXTREMELY grateful for what I had been given, but that I didn't think I could stomach doing it again. Like you said, when you know how chilly the water is, you're a lot less willing to jump in again.

I would just really take a little while to think about it and if you decide you can't do it again, that's a great decision...talk to DH and tell him why. If you decide you're up to it, then that is a great decision, too. Only YOU can decide whether you want to do it again and only you will know when that decision is the right decision...not DH, not us here, not anyone but you.

I will be praying for you and your decision and hope you're able to find the answers you're looking for.

Keep coming back here - the support is invaluable!!

thanks, heather!
I definitely want more children, I just think its too early. He's 2 and 3 months old and a handful!
i just dont see myself coping with all the stuff while he's not yet in school.
i have frozen embryos so i might do that in july and then, if it doesnt work(prob wont) ill wait till he'll be three.
thanks for your replies! :)

Helen22 I am so sorry you suffered such a loss. Joining this community is one of the best things you can do when it comes to searching for answers, encouragement, hope and great advice during this journey. Do stick around and you will find that some load is taken off your shoulders.

I was in hospital on Thurdsay (12/05) after an extremely difficult week and changing doctors. I'm supposed to be bed resting. I missed this place so much I just had to steal 10 mins and let you all know I'm still around and will be back very soon.

Lots of BabyDust
