Mrs.James - July 21

Hi Ladyybugz,

I'm 36 and I'm new to this board too and I'm on my first IUI and I have a 2ww. I'm on clomid and I do know that the drugs do alter your cycle a bit. Although I'm new to all of this and someone else who has more experience probably can confirm this. I also had a trigger shot and on Tue I'll have blood work done. I don't feel any different although I hope we're successful the first time around. We agreed to only do the IUI 3 times and then we're going to move on to IVF. I wish you all the luck :) Mrs James.

Hi Ladybugz,

Welcome to the site. Sorry to hear about the cysts. This is very common when using ovulation induction meds. I was on Clomid and develeped Cysts which went away in one cycle. This past month I was on Repronex and did not have any cysts when I went for my baseline. I guess it is pretty much based on the individual.

I have never had any experience with meds prolonging af's arrival. I actually never read anything about it, however it might be a good question for your re since we are all different.

Good luck to you,
Liz

Mrs. James and Ladybugz,

Welcome to the site. This is a wonderful place for support through our journey. Since I joined in May it has been a saving grace for me. There is just so much that my husband can understand with this process, having met so many wonderful women here has really helped to keep me sane, not to mention it is so very nice to be able to share with people who know exactly how you are feeling in most cases.

Mrs James -
Good luck on your 2ww. I am all too familiar with the 2ww, I think we all are. I will keep you in my thoughts, sending you lots of postive energy.

To tell you both a little about where I am at. I have had 3 m/c, 2 unexplained and 1 (the most recent Dec 05) was a chromosome abmorality. Our little girl had 3 chromosome 13's. After 3 months of tests it was discovered that I have a low Estrodiol level in the Leutal Phase. They believe that this may have something to do with less then perfect ovulations, so in May we began with ovulation induction using Clomid. I was on 50mg for days 5-10 with close monitoring of the follicle. I did fine with the follicle size, however my lining was only 7 and my body did not do the LH surge on its own so we had to do the trigger hcg. The cycle ended in a bfn. The next cycle I began Clomid again only to discover that I ovulated a week later, (they also believe I had cysts and no baseline us was done) so again it was a bfn. We met with the re and discussed options since I was not doing so well emotionally on the Clomid and I seemed to have a mucus problem. I began taking Repronex injections last cycle. The cycle was great, but again a bfn. I just began the 2nd cycle of Repronex up to 2 viles a day from 1 last month. Today is my 2nd day. Monday I go for an u/s and blood work to see how how we are doing. The whole process is very nerve wracking, as I am sure you both are well aware. It is often very hard to sit back and relax for me.

DH and I have pretty much decided that we would do 1 more cylce after this of the Repronex and if no pg is achieved we will give it a break till the beginning of the year and go for IVF. I think I will need a break emotionally and physically before I can move onto IVF. It is a big step and one I am very nervous about taking.

It was great to hear back from you Ladybugz. Hopefully I will talk to you again soon.

Take care,
Liz

Ladybugz,

I am so very sorry for your previous experience with the IUI's. Being happy with an re makes all the difference in the world. That is very sad that they "gave up" on you. It is so important for the doc and nurses to have faith in us order for us to have in ourselves. I am very happy with my doc and staff, I only have a small problem with 1 of infertility coordinators. Luckly I don't have to deal with her to often, only when my reg one is out for a day.

The cost of treatments is often very sickening. I wish, like so many of us do that it would be mandatory for the insurance companies to be required to cover treatments. Unfortunatly I think many people "give up" or can't go any further due to financial complications. It is really a shame.

How are you feeling? Any symptoms? When was your IUI?

Thank you for your support. I am nervous about Monday, for now I am just trying to relax and enjoy the weekend.

Take care, talk to you soon.

Hi Ladybugz,

When af arrives it always seems to be a sad time, but then again it is always a postive sign since we can begin a new cycle. I think it is easier to take when we know she is coming any day or any second now, atleast that is how it is for me.

I will be thinking about you and appointment tomorrow. I hope all goes well. Let me know how you make out.

Take care and good luck,
Liz

Hi Ladybugz,

Congrats on your u/s! That is wonderful news.

What meds are you on for your stimming?

Have a great day (hopefully the rain will go away for you!)

Good morning Ladybugz,

How are you feeling today? I hope you had a nice weekend and the rain stopped for you.

I was on Clomid for one cycle and hated it. I was so moody and just plain out felt like crap. It works well for many, but definatly not me. I am on Repronex, which I do believe is similiar to your Follitism. I am on 2 viles a day right now.

My appointment went well this morning. I have 3 follicles, they are all small and about the same size, so there is no way to tell yet if they will all mature to ovulation or not. I am just waiting for my bw results (I will get them early afternoon today) to see how my Estodiol is doing. I am crossing my fingers that it is up to a good number.

The progesterone supp. are awlful. I am on them every month beginning a day ofter ovulation. The symptoms can be so much like preg it is often so hard to not think about it.

When is your next appointment? Good luck to you, I hope all is well.

Take care,
Liz

Ladybugz,

Wow, I am sorry to hear what you went through with your hsg. Did you try calling your doc's office and asking about the results? I can't believe that they would not let you know what went on.

I had an hsg back in March. Boy was a that an uncomfortable test. yuck. I wasen't given any kind of sedation, just told to take 4 advil before I went because the cramping would be bad. I also did not know they could do any kind of repair with that procedure.

I am currently on day 9. I have been on the Repronex since day 5. I haven't got the call yet about my Estrodiol levels (usually its between 1 and 2), once I get that call I will know when I go back for my next u/s and how much medicine to take today. Waiting for a call from the office is always a little stressful for me.

Hope all is well with you, take care,
Liz

Ladybugz,

Sorry to hear about your headache. :( I hope you are feeling better now.

You have sure had a rough ride. I am hoping for a much better cycle for you this time. Sounds to me like the stress of the last cycle didn't help the situation. I would have to agree with you, that was just too much for anyone to handle in one week. I am sending you lots of postive thoughts that this month will be much better for you. You are off to a good start so far.

As for me, I got my Estodiol level back. It is at 157, which is up from this time last cycle. The doc is pleased. Wed. I go for a post colital test and determine if there are any mucus problems and decide if we need to do an IUI this month. I am also going to have my next u/s and bw that day. We will get to see how well the follicles are doing. Should prove to be interesting, I am anxious to see how many since this morning it looked like 3!

Well, I must run. Talk to you soon
Liz

Hi Ladybugz,

Great news! You seem to be responding great. That is wonderful news. Are you going to get your bw back today?

I was told by my re that they like to see the follicles around 17-19. 20 they say is on the larger side. Last month my 2 were 19 and 17. Unfortunatly I got a bfn, but I do think that it has more to do with my estrodiol being low. That in turn indicates a less quality egg. I started out slow with the estrodiol last month not going up too quick, then in the 2nd half it dropped and I had to do booster shots of hcg to bring it back up.

I had my appt. yesterday. The post colital test went well, everything looks great. My u/s went well also. I have 2 on the right 17&15 and one on the left 17. My estrodiol is 559 so we did the trigger last night and I will ovulate in approx. 36 hours. They also said I had 3 smaller ones on the right 12&13 that were not there on Monday. Since we triggered last night they will not make it. I have a postive 2 and possibly a 3rd (the one at 15).

Sounds like we are both having great cycles. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully this is the month.

Let me know how you make out with you bw.

Take care,
Liz

Hi liz,

They just called my estradiol level is 367
I have to continue injecting till tomorrow night and I have an appt Saturday morning for BW and U/S...I asked her about the level I guess anything over she said either 200 or 300 is fine, and that the follicles just need to get bigger, she called on my cell and I couldnt
hear her that well..another office called from out of state
I guess they share the same system and help with the
afternoon phone calls, that was strange...

Ladybugz -

Great news on the estrodiol level. What day are you on? 6??? You seem to be responding wonderful. I was told by my re they like to see 200 per mature follicle. You are doing great! :)

My post colital test came back great, so I will not be needing an IUI this month. I have actually never had an IUI, just ovulation induction with meds. The sperm could looked great yesterday and so did my mucus, so they don't see any reason to do the IUI. ??? I am ok with it, if they don't think I need it then they are probably right. Dh had an aweseome sperm count and mobility when we tested in June, so that is not an issue for us fortunatly.

Sat. morning.. I bet you are excited for that appt. I would have to say I would be willing to bet you do the trigger Sat. that would make you ovulate Mon., so your IUI would be Monday, correct?

I will talk with you soon.
Take care
Liz

Hi ladybugz -

I have never heard of having multiple follicles and only 1 being released. I have always read and been told that all follicles are realeased at ovulation. Some may be too small to be able to withstand fertizalition, but they are all released. Did you doc tell you that only 1 is released? Just curious, I think I may have to research that one.

How are you feeling? Anxious for your appt. tomorrow?

Let me know how you are making out.

Take care,
Liz

Ladybugz,

Congrats on the great u/s! That is great news. Hopefully you will be doing your trigger tomorrow and iui on Monday.

Let me know how you bw comes back this afternoon.

I will keeping my fingers crossed.

Talk to you soon,
Liz

Ladybugz -

Congrats on the Estrodiol. That is great news!!

How was your bw today?

Are you scheduled for your IUI tomorrow? If so, I wish you the best of luck. You will be in my thoughts!

Everything here is well, just in the 2ww. I am actually very calm so far this month, so hopefully it will keep up. The days seem to go by so fast, my test day will be here before I know it.

I will talk to you soon -
Good luck
Liz
