Hello!
I'm new to this forum. I am 13 days post iui. This was our second attempt. I'm waiting until morning to try another HPT. I tried on days 10 and 11 and got BFN both times. I know it was early, but some people are able to get positives by those days :).
Anyway, someone asked about cramping post iui. I've had cramping both months. The doctor tells you that it's ok to continue nomal activity after iui, but I have to tell you that's just not possible for me!!!
Both months, I've had serious ovulation pain beginning around the time of iui and lasting the rest of the afternoon/evening. (Several years ago, I went through a year and a half period where I had this pain every month. My ob couldn't find anything wrong and said that some women just have pain with ovulation. Well, I haven't had that for almost 3 years. I guess that's about the time I stopped ovulating on my own.) OK, that was somewhat off the subject.
Anyway back to iui. The first month, I began cramping on day 3. I had bad cramps on days 3 through 5, then mild cramping the rest of the month. No baby. This month, cramping began on day 5. Not as bad as last month and has lasted the entire 2 weeks. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Last month, I was sure it had worked. Otherwise, why the cramping? Now I think it could just be side effects from the clomid and trigger shot. Anyone else experience the cramping?

I do not really know how to describe what I feel I think that I am cramping but it comes on and off I think my breast are sore too but I wonder if it is in my head. i will take preg test on Monday 10/16/06 and today I am 13 days post iui. kepp me posted and Good Luck...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!
If you are 13 dpiui today, why are you waiting until Mon. to test? or is that when you're scheduled for a beta?
My doc doesn't schedule betas unless you want one (I'm just in the "basic" infertility group, meaning, not ivf.)
I thought I would test today, but I chickened out this morning. Yesterday, I noticed that my nipples were very sensitive. This usually doesn't happen to me during my regular cycle. I also had this metallic taste in my mouth several times yesterday. I think this is TMI but I have been checking cm and cp this month also. I've had creamy cm (lots of it!) and as of today cp is still very high. I've read that all of these can be signs of pregnancy. It's just so hard to know! I hated to test this morning because it might bring all of my wishful thinking to an end. Or it could be positive. :) Maybe I'll test tomorrow :-\

I just did my 1st IUI on Oct. 7th I do my blood on Oct. 17th. I feel like my life is in limbo, my mind keeps telling me, oh, yea..your peeing a lot so you must be pregnant, or even better I'm so hungry..thats gotta be a sign. I know that sounds so dumb, but I am so hopeful. I'm scared of how I am going to feel if it does comes back neg..

I've been reading this for the last couple of days and and I wish you all good luck and PPT. Today is the day I get my blood work drawn and I will find out this afternoon. I have had all type of symptoms almost everyday after transfer and the last couple of days nothing. So I am still freaking out. I really don't know how I am going to handle this either if it is negative. Had a dream that it was positive, so hopefully dreams do come true.

I must admit that I am waiting for Monday because I am afraid to take a HPT sooner then when they told me. I was told after the iui that I should take HPT on Sunday 10/15/06 however I am so nervous that I have decided to wait until Monday I don't know I keep seeing that everyone test before and it comes out negative if you do it to soon that I figured well let me wait one day after they told me. I have a two year old son who I love to death and there is nothing I want more than to give him a sibbling. I am also keeping my fingers cross for you and I can understand why you haven't tested too. I will keep all of you posted.

I know how you must be feeling I had 2 iui done one on 09/29/06 & the other on 09/30/06 i plan to take a HPT on Monday 10/16/06. I know that I am waiting too long but I am so afraid of getting a negative result so I am using positive visualization and waiting a day after the nurse told me to take a home preg test. I have been having symptoms on and off but I try not to pay attention to them because with my son I never had any symptoms in the begining so we have to wait and see. good Luck and keep me posted...

We got our results yesterday and it was positive. We are pregnant after 2 1/2 yrs ttc. We couldn't be more excited! I had IVF transfer and within the 2ww I experienced all type of cramping, so i'm thinking it pretty normal. I wish all of you the best of luck. I know how difficult it is thru this waiting period. Positive thought to you all!

I logged on last night looking for your post and when I did not see it I told myself that you were. i am so happy for you and I wish you nothing but the best. I will have my HPT done on Sunday or mOnday and I will let you know so if you have a chance long on and hopefully we will be able to share the exciting news.

Hey girls,
Sadly, I think I'm out for this month. Neg. test today at 16dpiui. Last month I started my period at 17dpiui, so I'm expecting AF today or tomorrow. Also, this morning when I temped, it was down from yesterday, so a pretty good clue that the test would be neg. even before I took it.
My DH and I have been ttc baby #2 for the past 3yrs. 2 years on our own. We thought it would happen when the time was right. ??? (DS took just over a year and we were 23 & 25) Finally after 2 years, we decided to go see the infertiltiy doc. We had all of our work ups done. Hubby is fine. We found that I do not ovulate reguarly or if I do ovulate, it's late in the month (luteal phase defect).
I'm just wondering if there could be something else going on as well with me. Both months that I've had the iui, I had pg symptoms. The first month, I'd attribute to the hcg shot because they were very early symptoms and then disappeared the week before my period. But when AF came I had heavy cramping and bleeding which is not normal for me. This month no symptoms from the trigger shot. Cramps from 5 days iui throughout entire 2ww. And beginning about days 12 & 13 pg symptoms. I don't get pms symptoms. Only very minor cramping the day AF comes.
My dr. has been telling me it usually takes at least 3 tries at iui before you experience success. But I just thought that the low dose of clomid worked so well for me (3 follies at 50mg) and everything was timed so perfectly, that how could it miss?
I know that I'm rambling, but I just need to get this off of my chest.
I'm also bummed because I'm a teacher and if it had worked either last month or this month, the baby would have been due early in the summer, so I could stay home longer :(. I was able to stay home with DS until he was almost a year old. But we were broke back then and didn't own one house let alone 5! (We have tenants and no, we don't make any money on them yet >:(. Hubby's way of securing our future!) We just have so many more responsibilities now and hubby flies for ComAir, currently in bankruptcy with Delta. So I have to keep working.
It's all so frustrating! Now I have to decide. Do I continue with another round of iui and have a baby at the end of July, or the following month, Aug. And end up being on maternity leave at the beginning of the school year. If I did that, then I would only be able to stay home for 6 weeks. That would suck! It's just not fair to anyone. OR do we wait til March and begin trying again when the timing would be better???? The thing is, if we're having this much trouble now, how will it be 6 months from now?
I just don't know anymore. Sorry this was so long. I just needed to vent. And maybe get a little sympathy from people who would understand. :'(

Are you going on Oct. 17th for blood work? Have you gone through IUI before? This was my first time, and last week I could have sworn that I was pregnant....today, well I feel normal. Someone told me that it never works the 1st time around..Does anyone know if that is true or not?

I am sorry to hear that you might not be pregnant but hey continue to be optimistic until the actual flow. I know what you mean about the frustration of keeping going or stopping but reality is that the only one that can make that decision is you. Talk it over with hubby and see what he tells you if to keep going, to get this battle over or to wait until March....I would keep going...I will have my HPT on Sunday I get really disappointed and discourged when I see the post of people who didn't get pregnant but I am trying to be optimistic. I had two iui one 09/29/06 and the other 09/30/06 1 st time. With my son it happened the 1st time too but not iui only clomid 50 mg so there is hope...You can write to me any time you want to vent I will hear you because I know what you are going through...But yet I still have not tested...Good Luck and keep me posted
