WellI am new to this site. I am in the 2ww and usually have my pd by day 24...sometimes 25. Well today is day 25. I must say this is definately stressful and emotionally draining. I had my 1st IUI on 6/26/07 and ave made it this far without testing, b/c I know I will be crushed if it is negative.

I know how hard it is to not test- I tried always to at least wait until 14 or so days after ovulation- but your right the disappointment sucks. This last time I decided I wasn't going to test- I was fed up with all the negs, but as time dwindled by my expectant period it got harder and harder. Than on Mothers Day I said what the hey- I am so used to the negs anyway at least it will stop me fr wondering and if it is pos what better day to get the news. Well here I am 3 months later pregnant and doing well. Sometimes I still don't beleive I am but that phase will soon come to an end with a protruding belly. Good luck to all.Tra

Hi there,
I am new to this forum. I had IUI with 50 clomid on 7/9/07, so now I am in the middle of my 2 week wait!
This is my first try at IUI, but we have been trying to concieve for 6 years. I kind of feel like it might not work, even though I had 4 follicles and my DH had a good sample (28 million), I really don't want to get excited and set myself up for dissapointment (again). I have also had cramping, but it's been pretty mind, more like a twinge than a cramp. I called the nurse yesterday, before I found this site, and she said it was normal to feel these "twinges" as my overies had been stimulated, it doesn't mean that I'm pregnant. Not what I was hoping to hear. But then I found this site!!! I have to say, it's given me some hope that the things I am feeling might be a baby after all!
It is so good to be able to chat with people who REALLY know what I am going through!!

Hello! I am in a similar boat. I have had CM, cramping, twinges, major bloating, hard time sleeping, backaches, fatigue. My period is not due til the earliest (based on 28 day cycle, which I wasn't last month!) this Sunday the 15th, but I my cycle was 32 days so I am expecting it Thursday.
I tested this morning just for sh*&s and giggles, but BFN. I am going to wait til Tues to test again. I hate to do this, but I really feel pregnant, just because I have never had these symptoms like this before. I just don't want to be let down!

Trababy - I'm amazed at you. I just took about 4 hours to read all 31 pages of this 2WW forum.. and Tra, you have been there from the beginning! You have had so many ups and downs! And the 5 IUIs... you were literally filling out forms for IVF and didn't even WANT to go through another IUI! And your sister? Is she trying again? What a flip-flop heartache! First she's preggo, and you're not, then she loses it and you get preggo!

Anyway, best of luck. I like reading you posts and enjoy so many of the others. I suppose Nania (don't exactly remember the names) had only twins and not triplets, yey. And poor Valerie is taking it easy and trying again soon, I hope. I was right there with her as everyone around her was posting high numbers after their 2ww, and hers were around 40. Heartbreaking! Been there!

This is my 3rd IVF, we've gotten preggo last two times, but either sac with no yolk, or couldn't find the sac (weird). Levels were in the 120s and went to 1600, but the placenta emits HcG, so that's where it was coming from.

We transferred 2 good blasts on 7/11 and we have 10 good blasts frozen (husband's a trouper!). I'm 43, so we're cautiously optimistic, as we've only ever had one to freeze before.

Trababy, to answer your post, my friend actually saw two sacs and had high numbers at first, then a week later they couldn't see anything in it. Numbers stayed high, but it was the very common "vanishing twin" syndrome which surprisingly happens a lot! And, no, they don't come back, from what I understand.

Good luck to all! I'm still on that 3-day bedrest that they require, so I'll be on all the time. :)

GREAT POSTING Frisbee Girl!

Rest easy. Sounds like you had great results!! I'm rooting for you!! Out of curiosity, what city/clinic did you use?

I'll be joining the 2WW drill this afternoon given that I have a transfer. I've got a few errands to do before I am resting for 3 days. Had some odd experiences this cycle and am rather perplexed. More later.

CONGRATS TRABABY!! You go, girl !!
All the very best in baby dust to all ! Cheers, Jane

I hope you get a BFP.... as well as myself.

Baby Dust to you!!!!!

Jane, somehow I remember your name and thought I read that you were already far into your pregnancy! Hm... I could be wrong... all these names start to run in together, even tho I secretly try to put a face to all of you so that I can "pretend" we all know each other and meet for coffee every few days to touch base, haha.

Anyway, TODAY is your transfer! Wow, and you had time to post! Sweet! Yes, do your errands because flat on your back for 3 days is like a death sentence. We used Reproductive Partners in San Diego. They are great! What/how many did you transfer?

MWink and Nix, good luck to you both! Sounds like we all will know within a few days of each other if we are BFP or BFN. My test is July 23.

Hi Frisbee Girl, It is so impressive that you read up on these old posts- I would have done the same and have. It is a long hard road but there is a light at the end, one must be patient which is the hardest part- I guess that is why it is a virtue :) Do you have other children? Wouldn't matter if you had 5 others it is still a tough thing to go through. Good luck with it- my mom always told me not to pray for a baby to pray for strength bc regardless what it is you go through you need to be strong. I too thought Jane was in the midst of a pos. It is hard to keep the names straight. Best wishes to all. I go to the Dr. on Wed for the first stomach sono- it will be 14 wks. The other sac is slowly disappearing so suspect it will be gone. I too have heard of how common it truly is.
Blue skies to all.

Howdy Frisbee girl and Trababy----yup, your memories serve you correctly....early this year, i was prenant until 8 weeks and then the fetus died...somehow my profile got deleted , so I think I got it inserted again...

it took ages to recalibrate to zero again, hence ivf again.
results this time are iffy at best. 9 follicles made the stimulation, only 5 were retreived, 3 fertilized, 2 made it to cell 6 and 8. so only two got transferred. one takes one to make a baby....so we shall see...I guess if I get a craving for a beer again...that will be a good sign. last two prenancies, I didn't want pickles or ice cream , but beer! i'm not even a beer drinker in normal life....so I just had to laugh about it, while my girlfriends drank my beer.....

I switched clinics(nyc to las vegas) since they seemed to have a novel approach to the protocols....that worked, but the rest was not up to my expectations given my previous experiences....but i'll get over it....

so now i just lie around.....that worked for the last two prenancies too---3 days of books, paperwork and more paperwork on the computer---good time to catch up!!

thoughts and prayers to everyone!! 23rd will be here very soon!

want2bamommy25 and ALL -
I took a test yesterday morning and it was POSITIVE! Thank you all for the support and kind words. I can't get in to see the doc til Aug 3. I really would like a blood test just to verify, can I just go to a clinic or something? My doc is 30-40 minutes away and I dont want to go all the way there for just a blood test. Any suggestions?

JANE ALLERTON - July 17

hello mwink: CONRaTULAtionS!!!

awesome news!!

if i decipher things correctly, you are talkin about your ob-gyn doctor until aug 3, right??

you can short circuit that, by calling your GP and asking for a prescription for an hCG beta test and then go to your local Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics for the blood test. they are always open and no appt needed PROVIDED that you have the prescription in hand from any MD.

you can locate Labcorp or Quest on the internet by doing a zipcode search. they have zillions of locations.

Also your insurance most likely will cover it---almost all major ones cover "diagnostic" tests such as this blood work. Again, I am deciphering that you have a GP and insurance.

If you get put off by somebody in the doc's offices, just complain about pains or tell them you are at risk patient given advanced maternal age, diabetes, or some other factor that causes grave concern. If they blow you off despite raising concerns, there is room for liability on their part. No sensible doctor's office is going to leave room for liability as long as you speak up for yourself.

Just my two cents from my viewpoint and not liking being shoved around/ignored by docs/distracted front offices at doctor's places. Hope this lands you the script today and even the blood test, if you are on west coast time. wishing you a terrific Tuesday! jane allerton

mwink - July 17

Jane, thank you so much. I will definitely check that out! I was researching, and to me it sounds like the blood test is not that different from a home urine test, is this true? I have heard that it's not common at all to have a false positive on a urine test and that it might be just a waste of money and time to get the blood test done. So now, I am not certain what to do!
thanks again for your help.

Frisbee Girl - July 17

Jane, super good vibes coming at you during your 2ww. I hope this one takes. We are about the same age, I turned 43 a couple of months ago. I've never had any children, never found the right guy. Now that I have Mr. Right, we know that only an IVF miracle can save us. :)

I have 6.5 days to go before I test, and I am not feeling anything but one steady symptom throughout this 2ww, which I can only describe as a mild squeeze in my womb. Sort of as if the womb is your hand and in its normal state it is enclosed in a limp grip, but now its like it's squeezed with the amount of effort you would use to hold a newborn's arm in your fist. That's the best way I can describe it. Anyone with more symptoms (forget about the sore bbs and any low-grade headache which are from progesterone).

JANE ALLERTON - July 17

hi mwink...

only the blood test is totally conclusive. If you can't wait until aug 3, then call your GP for the script.

the other thing about the hcG beta blood value is that it gives a value NOW to start calculating fetus growth and if it correlates to normal. there are many beta calcalators on the web, but unless you have 2 beta values, you can't see the growth.

if you are less than 28 y o, you are praobably ok unless you smoke, drink or are overweight.... lots of factors that only your physician can help you with.....but i'm no physician....

personally, the blood test is definitive in answers and gives you peace of mind in knowing conclusively. It seems your insurance doesn't cover the blood test costs, which seems really odd....they don't cost much!
best of babt dust wishes!! jane Allerton
