Hubby and I tranferred 3 beautiful embryos yesterday and we are keeping our fingers crossed. One was a 7 cell and the other 2 were 5 celled. I just feel exhaused. I am 200 mg progesterone suppositories twice daily. We have had 12 failed IUI's and 1 failed IVF. We tried ICSI this time and I am trying to keep my stress level to a minimum. ( I am kind of high strung).

Just wanted to share....

Good luck!!!

I am also getting ready for a transfer. This is my first IVF cycle (totally unplanned). I was trying Bravelle for the first time but produced too many follicles for an IUI so they switched me mid-cycle. I am a bit overwhelmed right now. I had my retrieval yesterday. They got 10 eggs, 9 had ICSI done, and 7 fertilized. So I am playing the waiting game to see if the transfer will occur on Tuesday. We should definitely keep in touch since I do not know what to expect...

Take care,
Lindsay

KariV - those embies sound lovely and I have my fingers crossed for you. I saw my RE this morning and we are thinking about doing a lap this Friday.......she is trying to get a spot on the theatre list. Then we start our 1st IVF next week. We have been TTC for 2yrs and I have had 3 IUI's which all failed, so bring on the big guns. It is exciting but very scary as i have all my hopes pinned on this. You could probably call me a bit highly strung too, so we would relate well. I want it all to happen yesterday. Keep us up to date on what you are feeling etc. This site keeps me slightly sane if that is possible through all of this.

We tried 12 IUI's with our old RE's office. I am really harboring a lot of anger over that whole ordeal. They would bring me in to do the HCG trigger shot and then 24 hours later, send in a 20something year old nurse in to do the IUI. They never once checked via ultrasound to see if I had actually ovulated. When I questioned them, they said that "there was no way to really tell" if I had ovulated, which I know know is BS. I can't wait to be pregnant and go back to their office and slap them. They were pushing us towards their IVF program ($20K) and that was out of our price range. WE switched to a new RE based on the recommendation of some of my cleints who have had numerous children with the new office.

I am finally up out of bed for the first time since Saturday and my back and ta-ta's are killing me. I am guessing the ta-ta's are related to the progesterone, the back is related to the mattress.

Feel free to email me directly at the link on my profile too.

Off to work in a few hours....

Hi Kari

We only tried three IUI's (natural cycle) and had decided to do three rounds of injectables/IUI's and move on to IVF if unsuccessful. We have to pay out of pocket for everything but bw/us so it is becoming expensive quickly. I am 31, and my husband is 29. We have been ttc since my mc in Aug. I was on the pill for the past 17 years and am having problems with my cycle. My husband also has issues. I am grateful that we decided to be aggressive with our infertility problems. It helped that one of the RE's at my clinic is a client where I work and has been very open and honest this whole journey.

Well, we are waiting for an update on our embryos. Tomorrow will be the big day if so. My boss is not thrilled that I will be taking off work...

Talk to you soon-
Lindsay

understand totally about the boss thing. I run a verterinary practise for a solo doctor. Last month, our fist IVF try, he insisted that I use all of my vacation time not not come to work. Very generous, but on days that I was just getting blood work and ultrasound, I can still work. Anyway, this month, I've worked. I may have to come in later, and take an occasional Saturday off, but things seemed to work out. I think that my threat to leave the practice got his attention as well. Since I now have no vacation time at all, I really don't care. I live 15 miles from the NJ border and could easily find work in a state that actually covers IVF. I think I woul dwant to take the summer off and float aroundin my neighbor's swimming pool. I have done 6 day a week for almost 4 years for this guy.......

Oh, different note:

Me, 32, hubby 48. H efell off the top of a tank while serving in US Army. He has 3 daughters from his first marriage (all grown up and out of the house).

Also, found my clinic through one of my clients at my hospital. I have a huge cheering section of dog and cat owners.....

Back to work.....

Kari
