Clearblue Fertility Monitor + ovulation sticks, please help!

Hi, sorry for posting this twice but wondering what everyone thinks on this? I wonder if anyone can help? I am a little confused. After reading untold amounts of info, i understand that when using ovulation sticks that measure the LH, you should test at about 2pm as LH is synthesised in the body in the morning and wont show up til late. So why is it that the clearblue fertility monitor asks you to use the first urine of the day? I know it also measures another hormone (- estrogen i think?) but i am now worrying it wont pick up the LH. When i have used the ovulation sticks in the past, i have had a negative at 1pm with a positive the same day at 5.30pm.
The clearblue fm also says that if you start your af after the time you want to press the m button then you should press the m button the following day, this worries me as my fm is now a day behind. Is this really much of a prob?
Thanks all!!! Angela x x

I've only used the sticks, but my RE told me to test around the same time each day in the afternoon.
