When IVF continues to fail...

Dr.Jacobs,

If you had a patient that had completed 2 IVF cycle with good 5 day embryos both times but implantation just wasn't happening, what would you do next? Does age affect implantation as well as embryo quality? Is it time for a 2nd opinion before we do anymore treatments? I had a million cultures of my uterus before we started this IVF and everything came back normal? I've had a baby before so I know it worked at one time? does assisted hatching help implantation rates?

sorry for all the questions, we just can't decide what to do.

Suzie

Certainly age can play a factor. After the age of 35, pregnancy rates begin to decline, and after the age of 40, they fall off the cliff. Another issue might be the lack of an adhesion molecule which is apparently important for embryo implantation.
Good luck.
