ultrasound 38 days post IVF day 3 transfer

Dear Doctor,
What do you hope to see on ultrasound 38 days post day 3 IVF transfer? I have had a positive bHCG but it is not doubling as hoped (Its been tested 6 times).

I usually do an ultrasound evaluation of a pregnancy 6 to 7 weeks after retrieval. At that time, you should reliably see a fetal hear in a normal pregnancy. At 3 weeks after retrieval, you may be able to see a gestational sac, but will probably not see a fetal heart, and may not see a fetal pole.
