Hi Dr. Jacobs,

i was on clomid 50mg for month of march and my lining was 3.9 mm on 13 day and i did n't conceive even after trying clomid for 5 months. This month its my natural cycle without any medication i performed u/s on day 12 and my lining was 9.4 mm which i was really surprised to see the perfect lining with my natural cycle and follicle size of 19.5 diameter . My question is there is possibility that even if i have a mature follice of 19.5 that ovulation may not trigger . I am diagnosed with unexplained infertility what could be the other problems that might be causing me conceive. Appreciate your response .

Shellym.

Clomid is an anti estrogen and caused your endometrium to be so thin. It is possible to grow a great follicle, which dose not rupture to release the egg (ovulate). Instead, it turns into a cyst, which secretes progesterone. Clomid increases the probability of that happening.
Good luck.
