Dr Jacobs, I just finished my first IUI cycle with injectables. We failed to get pregnant. Here's my question...my RE did not do any blood work prior to having me trigger. Shouldn't he have checked my E2 levels?? He had me trigger on CD10 and did IUI on CD12. I always ovulate on my own on CD15(without any medication). We have unexplained infertility. Should I be concerned with his protocol? TIA

I perform frequent ultrasound and estradiol determinations whenever I am stimulating ovaries. My primary criterion for administration of the hCG is follicle size. Giving you FSH to stimulate your ovaries will change the dynamic of your cycle, so you cannot compare it to your spontaneous cycle. Good luck.
