Most number of tries before success

Dear Dr Jacobs,
I know the decision whether to try IVF again after the nth failed attempt is a personal one that should be taken by a couple (ideally) with advice from their doctor. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to know:
1. To the best of your knowledge, what is the greatest number of IVF treatments someone has undergone before ultimately successfully delivering (e.g. I read the Brooke Shields was successful after 5 or 6 tries).
2. Same question, but for a person with whom you have had professional contact.

The data are rather clear. After 3 to 4 cycles of any treatment protocol, you reach the point of diminishing returns. On the other hand, different programs have different capabilities, and different pregnancy rates.
