Dear Sir, I have been doing a lot of research about IVF trying to prepare for our cycle in January and I have run across something that I would like your opinion on. I have read in more than a few articles that a low fat diet prior to IVF was best that somehow when it comes time for the ET the embryos don't do as well if there are a lot of lipids. Have you heard anything about this? Also I wanted to lose about 10 pounds prior to starting my cycle and have started a high protein low carb diet(my cycle is in Jan.) could this be harmful to my system prior to starting the cycle? I am taking a whey protein supplement but other than prenatals that is it. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.
V/R, Sylvia Blanton

I have seen no data related to low fat diets and IVF. For my insulin resistant patients, I recommed severe carbohydrate restriction. Good luck.
