DR. ,
IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE SURGERY (TO OPEN MY TUBES) IN ORDER TO HAVE IVF?
IF I CAN AVOID THE SURGERY AND MOVE ALONG THEN I GUESS THAT WOULD ONLY MAKE SENSE.

2. WHT IS THE NORM OR GUESTIMATED TIME PROCESS FROM BEGIN TO END WITH IVF?

Barry Jacobs, M. D. - November 2

You do NOT need to have tubal surgery before IVF UNLESS your tubes are filled with fluid. If your tubes are blocked from previous infection, and blown up like water ballons, they must be removed, or drained, before IVF. The fluid decreases embryo implantation rates with IVF.
Good luck.
