Dear Dr;I am a 31 year old woman .My husband had a very weak spermatic function and all the factors in his spermogram was bellow normal. He had a grade4 varicocele on the left side and a subclinical varicocele oin the right side. He has recently gone through repairing them, but the urologist hasen't given us much hope. He said we should concern IVF too.I would like your opinion on this matter and I also would like to know the incidence of twin pregnancy induced by IVF.

In our program, we typically transfer 2 blastocysts, and our twinnning rate is 10%to 15%. It takes about 90 days from the time a sperm cell starts being made until it is ejaculated . You will see no results from varicocele repair for at least 3 months, and not know ultimate outcome for 6 to 9 months. At that time, yu may still need to inject your husband's sperm into your eggs to create embryos. Good luck.
