Dr. Jacobs....
I have PCOS and do not trust OPK's to predict my ovulation. What method do you suggest to your PCOS patients to know whether they are ovulating? Does the microscope work?
Thanks!

None of the items sold will tell you with certainty that you are ovulating. All they do is either indirectly, or directly test for hormones associated with ovulation. It is possible to go through all the hormanoal changes of ovulation without releaseing the egg. Other than becoming pregnant, the only way to definitely determine you have ovulated involves the use of ultrasound. Please read the information I have provided on our web page, <www.texasfertility.com>. Good luck.

The only way to determine if you are ovulating is to do serial ultrasound evaluations of your ovaries to document both follicle growth and rupture. Good luck.
