Hi, it appears I have between 1 and 4 of these wonderful cysts. 1 is definite endometrioma, the other 3 may be follicular cysts.
My question is whether or not you would remove an endometrioma in 40yo with good FSH and good responder?
2 RE's say no but a 3rd opinion says yes. Her main concern is 'infection'. I have no s or s of infection. I am afraid that the sugery will damage my ovary/ies, increase my fsh and bring my ivf career to a halt!
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you Troppo

Today, the only reasons I operate for endometriosis is for pain or failure to produce the adhesion molecule felt to be important for embryo implantation. I have provided information about this molecule on our web site, <www.texasfertility.com>. If I were to operate on an ovarian endometrioma, I would do it through the laparoscope, and use a LASER to open the endometrioma, and then destroy the lining of the cyst wall. Good luck.
