Donor cycle too long?

Dear Dr. Jacobs,
I have been waiting to start a donor cycle. The donor is 30 years old. The donor has 2 children. The donor has never donated before. The donor cycle length is about 40 days. My center's current protocol for the donor is 2 weeks of BC pills, wait for a period. On day 2 of cycle check with U/S and if OK start meds. My donor stopped BC pills on 8/1 and has not startted her period. My questions are, how normal is this? Can we still have a good stimulation or dose this mean something is wrong? and last, how long can the recipent (me) stay on lupron and still have a good endometrial lining.
Thanks so much,
laura

I have my patients (including donors) use a full pack of pills, and I have not encountered what you describe. I doubt that it would make mush difference to take the hormones in the birth control pills for only 2 weeks, instead of 3. Since I do not know the protocol your clinic is using, I have to defer to them.

Good luck.
