D&C % with 8 week empyt sac

Dear Dr. Jacob,
Do you know the % of paitents that have to have a D&C after IVF, progeterone inj., prometrum suppositories, & have an 8 week nonviable pregnancy? They have told me to stop meds. If nothing happens i n 14 days, come in for a D&C.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Unfortunately, it is fairly common. I do not have a number to give you as to what percentage of women require a D & C, but it is small. You will probably evacuate your uterus on your own.
