I've been undergoing medicated cycles for awhile, and have always had antral follicle counts between 10 - 15 per ovary (with an occassional 5 - 10 on one). My last IVF cycle in early July (which ended in a chemical pregnancy) we had 11 and 14 at the baseline u/s. I had my u/s this morning for IVF #2 and the count was 6 and 8. Why is there is a difference? COuld it be the u/s technician did not count them/see them all? Is this number still a reasonable amount for stimulation?

The ovaries are continually changing. I do not worry unless there are fewer than 5 antral follicles visible on each ovary.
