i am 34 years old and suffered a massive PE ,2 years ago. i have just come off warfarin for 1 month and am feeling very anxious about that. i have no genetic problems and develped the dvt in the leg after an accident. my mother died from a PE at 39 yrs. which of course makes me conviced some connection must be there. i am now trying to become pregnent and wondering which blood thinner is best and what vitamins are good. i am worried that the pregnancy may cause a clot. any info appreciated, thanks niccii :)

Hi, i know this is a little bit late but i dont know if you are pregnant yet. They put me on heparin then lovenox when i turned 36 weeks the put me back on heparin because they say if i hve to go into labor heparin i easier to reverse so i wont bleed as much. To me lovenox burned going in and heparin dont so i like heparin better i just take more heparin the lovenox.

;) i wish you the best and keep in touch as i am very interested in your case as this can quite easily happen to me. i had 2 hours to go before i would have died with the pe episode. i had a clot buster drug which saved me. i cannot fall pregnant and wonder if it is the warfarin/heparin thst i have used. i am scared to go off as i do not ever want to go through that again.

be positive and ask lots of questions and use the best doctors

keep your chin up :)

Thank you for your concern. As of today I am exactly 8 weeks pregnant and I have taken 3 different vaginal sonograms and they all show a healthy baby. I will leave it to the hands of god. I have been crying all week because I dont want to hear any bad new. However, bad news would probably make my decision easier. If they told me early that my baby had fetal defects, it would make it easier to make a logical decision.

Thank you for your support and I will keep you up to date on my progress.
