Hello, ladies!

I'm new here, but I thought I'd ask some advice from any of you that have unexplained infertility. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis, but it's never given me much problems and the doctor doesn't think it is causing infertility. I also ovulate fine on my own, and have a very regular cycle. I just can't get pregnant on my own!

In the past few months, I've tried clomid, 50 mg on day 3-7, HCG trigger, and IUI. We did three rounds of this and no luck. Hubby has enough sperm to populate a small country, and my ovaries went gangbusters on the clomid. I had 8 mature follies on the first round, 6 mature follies on the second, and 2 mature follies on the third. Still, nothing.

Two weeks ago I had a laparoscopy to determine if I had scar tissue blocking my fallopian tubes. Everything looked fine, no blockage, and I had just a tiny bit of scar tissue removed from my uterus.

So now the doctor wants me to start 150 mg of Follistim per day for 10 days, HCG trigger, and IUI. He says that he has much more luck with injectibles with women who have healthy ovaries and normal cycles than with clomid, but he can't explain why. So I have a few questions that perhaps some of you might be able to answer

1. Has anyone here who had unexplained infertility that ovulated fine had luck with injectibles?

2. If I had so many mature follies on a very low dose of clomid, would I expect 150 mg of follistim to send me into OHSS territory? I'm worried I'm going to overproduce eggs and blow the cycle, and hence, lots of money, which is in short supply right now.

3. Has anyone ever explained why Follistim or other injectibles might produce "better" eggs than clomid, not just more eggs? I'm trying to determine what advantage I might have taking injectibles vs. clomid if it's not an issue of mature follicle numbers.
