i have been gone from this site for a long time (since last fall,) and i'm not sure how involved i'll be now, but i left feeling pretty desolate so i wanted to give an update to those who remember me. (i always wonder what happens to people.)
i got a new doctor who did some different tests. i tested positive for natural killer cells and antiphospholiipid antibodies. (which surprised me, i thought i'd have antithyroid antibodies since i have thyroid problems, but no. antithyroid antibodies don't seem to be a problem.)
because of these test results, i will need to be on heparin and have ivig infusions (in addition to everything else.)
i really like my new doctor so far, even though his office is two and a half hours away. i'll be taking the train to new york city. what an adventure!
i start my lupron and dexamethasone (steroid) this wednesday. i have a phone consult with the doctor's office on monday to review my medication calendar and go over shots again. i'm really excited and very hopeful right now.
thanks for the support you have given me along the way. i am a testament that this process can really put you through the paces as far as hope and despair go, but i guess a lot of us knew that already.
best of luck to everyone.
