I hope they don't cancel your cycle I have my fingers crossed for you. I had my sono and E2 done today they saw 14 follicles on my right ovary and 4 on my left. My largest follicle measured almost 13mm. My RE said there could be more on my left but it is really tricky to see since it is hiding. My E2 level also jumped to 520 it was only 158 on Tuesday. My RE said that my retreival would be either Tuesday or Wednesday and that my E2 levels would probably be around 2000 or more. She also said that your E2 will measure around 150 to 300 per follicle so I hope this helps.

Don't worry about he stims I haven't really had any problems on them I had more side effects with Lupron. I also started my stims at a lower dose only 150IU tomorrow it drops down to 125IU. I hope you get to feeling better! Good Luck and keep us posted on your progess.

Kris,
Your E2 levels tell how much estrogen you are producing. It is a sign as to how mnay follicles you have maturing. The numbers shouls increase slowly. My jumped up high and they had to play back and forth with my meds so that I did not hyper stimulate. They had to keep me from ovulating so I had to take my antagon shot for several days. Just keep askin yoru RE if yours are in the right range. That is the best idea. I don't know too much, I just trusted what my Re told me. My Lupron shots are going well. No side effects yet.. will go on Wednesday to check levels and see what stims to start! Good luck to you! Sounds like you are doing well!

Asunflower,
Thanks for the feedback, I am glad that you have not had any side effects from the Lupron. I am going for another sono and E2 today to get a better idea of when to do my retrieval. My RE said that my E2 level should be around 1500-1800 today which would mean I would have a Tuesday or Wednesday retrieval. I am just going to have to put my faith in my RE that she knows what she is doing. Keep me posted on your cycle progress.

Hi Kris

I went yesterday for blood and u/s. The u/s revealed not much is happening- I have many follicles (b/c of PCOS), but not any that are becoming dominant. My E2 was only at 101 (CD 10), so they increased my dosage to 150 units of Gonal-F which I started last night.

This morning I woke up with a fever (I have been feeling a bug coming on for a few days), which is 100 degrees. Does anyone know if this could affect my cycle? Feeling very blue right now as nothing seems to be working out. :(

Good luck with all of your appt.'s and keep me posted.

Shannon,
I am sorry you are not feeling well I don't know how this will affect a cycle I would check with your RE. I went for another u/s and E2 today I still have 18 follicles that are now ranging from 13-16mm. My E2 level is 1338 so I am now on 125IUs of Follistim instead of 150IU when I started. I am starting to get a little antsy because they will not give me a date on my ER they said today it would either be Wed. or Thurs. I still have my fingers crossed for your cycle and I hope everything works out ok. When do you go back to your RE? Keep me posted.

Kris,

Sounds like good news for you- 18 follicles!! Did they say how many they were expecting??

I don't know how many I am supposed to have, but I thought it is supposed to be more than when on Clomid or Femara (I had about 2-3 on those). I don't have any dominant yet. I go back to the RE on Monday morning...

Good luck to you!! It sounds like everything is going very well. :)

Shannon,
Thanks for the support. My RE said she expected to get anywhere from 15 to 20 based on my dosages. I have more than 18 follicles they are only paying attention to the 18 that will probably be mature this week.

I am optimistic but guarded about this cycle I don't want to get to excited. My u/s today was really painful one that trickly left ovary causes me more trouble they also think it has more follicles it is just hard to see right now. Boy am I glad I will be under anesthesia when they retrieve the eggs from that ovary.

Does your RE have an idea of why you are not producing more follicles and why there is not a dominant follicle yet? Good luck at the RE on Monday! :)

Kris,
Sounds like your stims are going well! That is about what I had when they retrieved! It really is just up in th air. They want to wait to get those follicles as maturea s possible but no hyperstim you! So it is a day to waiting game. It was for me. I had to go for U/s every day for the last 5 days before my retrieval. Your E2 level sounds perfect! Be prepared to feel very bloated with all those follicles. I had 19 so I know how you feel. Be patient and trust the RE. These u/s are painful the last couple of days but they are just getting you to the best point possible! They know what they are doing. Be positive and just know that if for some reason this one doesn't work, they at least will be able to refine your cycle for round2. It is great to be hopeful but realize that it is doesn't always happen on the first try. Hopfully it will for you! I am keeping my fingers crossed! I start stims on Wed!

Asunflower,
Thanks for the feedback on my cycle I know the RE knows what she is doing but I am always curious. How many eggs did they get from your retrieval. Right now my abdomen is extremely swollen and tender I feel achy like AF is going to come. I know that I need to be realistic of the situation however I am trying to be positive so I don't go down the road of negativity. I have another sono and E2 tomorrow to find out when I get my hcg trigger. How did you feel after the hcg injection and the retrieval I have gotten conflicting information from the nurses at my clinic. Are you on microdose ovidrel with your stims I am just curious about how other REs are doing this. Good luck with starting your stims and keep me posted of your cycle.

Well, I went to my RE appt. today...there are a few follicles on each side, but nothing over 10 mm yet! It is CD 13 for me. :( She said not to worry that they are just moving along slowly, but I asked Dr.Smith (on this website) about how moving slowly can affect the outcome and he said he would consider cancelling if it goes past CD 14 b/c of the possibility of "post mature" eggs. :-[
I am waiting a phone call to find out my E2 number. They said come back on Thursday CD16 to do another u/s...this is really dragging and I don't know if this is normal or not.
I'm upset that my Dr.'s office never mentioned anything about this "post mature" possibility-also, do you always see your RE when you go in for your appt.? We only see ours when it is a consultation- the nurse does all of the u/s's and even the actual IUI! I'm starting to think about going elsewhere.

I am so sorry to hear that your cylce is not going as well as you had hoped. I am not very familiar with the IUI process so I am probably not very much help. I think that sometimes Dr.s seem to think that we already know more than we really do. I have not heard of post mature eggs before either I always thought you were supposed to let them mature at their own speed but then again I am not a dr.
It is good that they are seeing more follicles now and hopefully your E2 has climbed up some as well.
In regards to seeing my RE it depends on when I schedule my appointments. So far she has done 2 of my 4 ultrasounds and she is doing today's ultra sound as well. My RE gives you the option of being put on her calendar instead of her nurses, the appointments aren't as great but at least I get to see her. You may want to check with your clinic and see if they can do this for you. I think sometimes they forget to treat the patient as a whole and just focus on the treatment. If you don't feel comfortable with your clinic by all means interview some other REs and see if there is a clinic that you like better.

I am crossing my fingers for your follies and your E2.

Hi Ladies
I have been on my stims for 4 days. I went in today and I had 11 follicles on my right side between 8-13mm and a few small ones on my left ovary....I guess my left ovary doesn't want to do anything.

My nurse just called back and said to decrease my dose tonight and tomorrow and I go back again on Wednesday. My RE's office doesn't tell me the e2 values....should I be asking them?

I got a horrible cold this weekend so I am still feeling pretty crappy from that but the RE's office doesn't seem too concerned...hopefully it will go away soon so I will feel better! I hate being sick!

Kris-Wow you have lots of follicles, you have good producing ovaries...I was on the max dose of Gonal-F 450iu's and I only have 11. Your ER will probably be soon huh!

Kris,
After the egg retrival I was very sore. Take the pain medication and take the day off after Spend it resting. I didn't and I was very sore. The retrieval wasn't too bad but I really was sore for a few days after. Just take it as easy as you can. Sounds like you will trigger very soon. I am only on Lupron right now and I will start Follistem and Menopur tomorrow night. Stay positive! It is all worth it no matter what. The trigger shot wasn't too bad either. It's the progesterone ones that are the worst. Get ready for those! Good luck! I had 19 eggs retrieved. They only could see about 17 on the u/s so I was surprised. You will probably have quite a few as well. Things are going very smooth for you! No problems at all!

Kris - March 28

Thanks for the info on the egg retrieval I got my trigger shot tonight at 7:45 so I will go in Wed. morning. My E2 level at 3732 and my largest follicle measured at 23mm my uterus also had the correct striping. I was nervous about the hcg trigger but it did not bother me at all maybe it was the thought that I won't have an injection for 2 days.

My left ovary does not cooperate either today was the first day we actually got a good look at it. Well now I have to start the hardest part and that is the remaining calm while waiting. Boy am I dreading those progesterone shots, my RE said she would mark me during retrieval so I would know exactly where to give the injection. I have my fingers crossed that I have some embryos for transfer.

Asunflower - March 28

Kris,
Things are going so smoothly for you! Keep positive. The progesterone shots are hard and so is the waiting process. Do yourself a favor and don't do too much reading about the IVF process during that wait time. You will just worry yourself and it is not good for you body. Get lots of rest and let everyone pamper you! You deserve it! Good luck on Wednesday! Everything will go great!
