With a day five transfer of 2 "perfect" embryo's...what is the latest you've ever seen a positive on an hpt? :'( THANKS!

Don't know much about history or HPTs for that matter. I only run the blood tests in the lab. You can detect hCG in the blood as early as 10 days post Day 5 transfer. We run our tests at 14 days to make sure its a strong positive when we tell the patient, as opposed to having a low hCG and being a little bit pregnant. testing too early only serves to stressed out the patient for 4 more days waiting for the "real" test results. As far as how late you can detect hCG, I'd say if you don't detect hCG on the HPT by Day 14 post transfer, its a bust (even considering delayed implantation - which happens sometimes).
