egg quality ?

I have known overall poor quality eggs (dark grainy cytoplasm, thick zona, inclusion bodies in cytoplasm etc.) even though I am young, nl fsh, good response to stims etc. which result in embies that are slow to divide (but good quality). I have been told that this is just probably how my eggs are since we have now seen similar things in 3 fresh cycles (and at 2 different clinics). I was lucky and found at least 1 good egg with my 2nd attempt at IVF w/ ICSI (for our mf too) and AH. We are trying again for another and hope that age 32 I have another good egg left.

I have heard that follicles are sort of "recruited" or "selected" for a cycle up to 3 mo prior to them (just 1 with a natural cycle) being ovulated (or retreived w/ IVF). In situations like mine, can having a few glasses of wine or drinking small amounts of caffeine in the wait period before starting a cycle (before even starting Lupron) negatively impact my eggs further (I don't smoke so that isn't an issue)? Is there anything one can do to improve things other than taking prenatal mvi, eating healthy, exercising etc.

I think that another success is going to be a combo of a proper stimulation (we are going back to the protocol I had success with), a good lab (I am at CCRM) and luck in getting another good egg in the batch coupled with ICSIing it with a good sperm (actually what I think the biggest factor is for me) but it is hard not to worry that maybe you could do something to negatively impact things since the egg prob is so unexplained anyways.

Thanks for your time.

You can relax. Small amounts of caffeine and alcohol will not adversely affect your eggs. You are doing all the right things.
