There is very little risk on lovenox. There are no long term side effects. There is a small risk of bleeding but, that can be treated with no problem. Infact the benifits outweigh any risk!! I am currently pregnant and taking 60mg daily. A good freind of mine just completed a pregnancy on lovenox and did wonderfuly!! Try not to worry. This drug brings many pregnancies to term that otherwise would have failed!!! It is a good thing! Debby

it's hard not to worry because there is a drug involved. My mom really did not want me to go on lovenox too just because it's something we didn't know a lot about & in my case i had no solid proof that i needed to be on it. But i did decide to- 22 weeks later, i am on it once a day- clotting could have been the reasons for my previous m/carriages. i have heard about very little risks on this drug as well as no side effects ( except the brusing) so as long as she follows the dr's instructions & goes to her normal appts- she should be fine. good luck.
39 yrs old. 1st daughter born in 2003. 4 m/c all under 10 weeks. Finally had little boy April of this year & used Lovenox 40 mg 1 x per day thru the entire pregnancy.

What absolute CRAP, Debby. There is significant risk with Lovenox. Maybe you should do your research. I have a few thousand hours researching anticoagulation, Lovenox, Heparin and anti-coaglant pregnancies and I COMPLETELY disagree with you. While I agree that Lovenox has some success stories, it also has complications of maternal death, fetal death, and infants born with severe complications including but not limited to Thrombocytopenia, Abnormal PT/ PTT levels, Intraventricular Cranial Bleeds (READ: BRAIN BLEEDS) and "other congenital anomolies". Maybe you should read some of the other postings here and realize there are pregnant mothers with nose bleeds, dizziness, severe bruising, meconium births and... if I read correctly in one posting... full term infant death. I think the reader needs to perform her own due diligence and that would involve knowing all facets of the consequences of taking a Class B drug during pregnancy. Incidentally, are you aware that there is litigation against the pharmaceutical company regarding this drug?
Please exercise care taking this drug and read as much about it as you can. This is still a relatively new drug, on the market about a decade, and there are serious considerations when taking this drug.
I recommend: Reading the Pharmagenics V. Aventis case on this drug, and going back and readng all the entries from moms on this drug complaining of serious side effects. I for one am a mother of a child who had severe consequences and virtually every reported problem listed on the newer drug warning label. I recommend caution when using this drug, or alternatives, and I also know that doctors know very, very little about the risks of this drug... and the Pharmagenics case seems to explain why doctors don't know in very specific terms: because the corporation knowingly false advertised their safety claims.
Thank you for giving us some alternative research sites. but I must say that when I read some of your posts they come across as hostel. If a women looks at all the info and still decides to take the lovenox it is not a personal attack. I feel like you have made it your mission to inform people and that is great, you are taking what happened to you and your baby and trying to make something good of it. But I will say that this is a support group for women who have chosen to take the drug. I wish you could respect that. Julia
