I am on Clomid because my cycles are very irregular and they say I haven't been ovulating.  I only ovulate about 3 times a year.  My OB says that CD18 is normal when taking Clomid and I know that I did ovulate that day because the night before and that day I could feel it.  This is my first IUI so I don't know how much pain I will feel yet.  I am very optimistic about the whole thing.  I hope you find a good specialist.  Don't worry allison- it will happen - you just have to find a better Dr.

I started using Clomid last month and the doctor confirmed by my blood test that I ovulated.  My progesterone level was 25. He was excited about that.  But unfortunately I wasn't pregnant this month.  I ovulated late this time.  Maybe this month will be better.  I have noticed i am having some wierd side effects with clomid.  I was increased to 100mg of Clomid.  I really just want some results FASTs!!!

allison29,

My husband and I have been trying since Sept 04.  I have been pregnant three times and lost my girls to Autoimune disorder.  So I have to take aspirin everyday and then take Heparin my next pregnancy.  The aspirin has effected my ovulation.  They just finished doing a lot of tests and confirmed that I have luteal phase defect.  So this last month was my first month to be on clomid.  The clomid really made my body produce more progesterone.  With the other pregnancies I had to take progesterone shots weekly.  So it has been a rollar coaster ride for the past two years.  I am really trying to be patient.  But it is so hard.  I still cry about the girls that I lost.  But I also didnt mention that I have two other children.  I have a 11 year old and a 9 year old.

Hey Summer
I read that you take 2 teaspoons 3 times a day during the expect ovulation period. I started the day I started Clomid. It is suppose to help thin out the harsh cervical mucus that sometimes comes as a side effect to clomid. I total understand about what you are going though. I have babys all around me. I hope the best of luck to you and try the robotussin. Also drink lots of water.Send babydust you way.

Hi Summer,
Thanks for thinking of me in these last couple of days till af. Hope springs eternal i guess. I have been doing the robitussin too.  Last cycle i switched to muccinex it seems a little more expensive (because it is name brand)  but i think it is worth it. You take two pills a day which are time released the liquid is nasty.  I started taking it 3 days before expected ovulation and yes drink lots of water like jnt said.  What does Metformin do? A while back a read a success story due to metformin. My doctor is going to try an aromatase inhibitor they achieve same goal as clomid but by different mechanism so less effect on the lining (this is my take on it anyway).  oh related to cm some people use egg whites while on clomid haven't tried that yet though. I hope your af shows this weekend so you guys get your next try lots of baby dust your way too.  take care

Hey Allison29,

Does the muccinex work better or is it just more convenient? I did the metformin and it was horrible. I never want to see that stuff again. I started Clomid tuesday are you on clomid? Oh I heard about the egg white it kinda sound gross but I heard that you can also use Preseed and Olive oil. It's gotten to be that I know some much about trying to have a baby it's crazy!
Well lots of babydust to you. Good Luck.
