TTC I am in the same boat as you, waiting for my first cycle, a part of me just wants to try now, but physically I wonder if it is healthier to wait. My cycle should be the first week of April. Maybe we will get pregnant around the same time and get back to the pregnancy board!! Right now there really isn't a message board for us, I hope they make one soon. I'd like to see how many of us are in the same boat and go through it together!! best of luck to you!!

i may be wrong, but i don't know if there's an advantage to waiting... maybe nurse darcy can give us info.... in fact, i have heard (and perhaps it is just an old wives tail)... that after d&c, you are more fertile... i guess the theory is everything is cleaned out and ready to go.... but i don't know. i am guessing that if i start 4 weeks from when my hcg dropped to 0, then that will be this weekend (unless i get lucky and got pregnant!!) i think this is a very hard time because you are in an indefinite wait... not a 2ww or something like that... hang in there... our time will come. :-) good luck and baby dust your way!!!

HI ladies, I do know the answer to this one. You can try 6-8 wks after mc if you have started a period.
I cant imagine it though because it took me about 8 weeks to feel human again. I know everyone is different though. ( being younger probably helps though} Good luck with the efforts.

ok, but don't you ovulate after the m/c and before your 1st period post-m/c? if you do, isn't there a chance that you would get pregnant before having another period? my grief is still kind of fresh, but physically, i feel fine... sometimes i think that there should be physical symptoms for my broken heart, but there are none. :-) nurse darcy... when should you get your pd after a m/c?
i really hate this limbo... this is worse than a 2ww b/c it is indefinite....

It should be in 4-6 weeks and yes you should ovulate before then. It would be like a women getting pregnant right after a delivery. It is rare but does happen. The docs want you to have a period to make sure hormones are more in order.
I hope I am making sense. Hormones you know.

wants a baby that is the sweetest response..I was feeling funky this evening and began reading the postings and I have to tell you your comment was precious..Thank you for your kind words they hit the spot... As for trying to get pregnant after a miscarriage...My RE told me that the reason they want you to wait is to make sure you do not get an infection because when you have a miscarriage and have a DNC your body is prone to infection..Hope this helps.

I sure do hope you can get preg. before! That would be wonferful. I had a miscarriage and I cannot wait until the day I get another positive preg. test!!!!! I am going to try and get pregnant right away. The Doc. said we are both healthy enough and young enough that we should not have to worry about getting preg. after the DNC. He said he hopes I get pregnant quickly. It is scary though, I am afraid to loose another child. But If it is ment to happen it will happen! Keep your hopes up. by this time next year we will all be pregnant or have a child!!!! God Bless!

Hi ladies, I have been looking all over the palce for people that have been going through the same stuff I have. I had a miscarriage on February 25th, It devastated me. I have been told over and over to wait three months but I just want to get pregnant now! It gets frustrating, especially when you see people pregnant that don't even want the baby, or know somebody who had an abortion. I have finally entered my first cycle after my miscarriage... Im so excited that I cant really think about anything else. It would be nice to have someone to talk to that's going through the same situation... Thanks a lot, Samantha

Hi Everyone, I went to stool and I saw something that resembled egg whites after wiping my vaginal area. I was at that time 11 weeks pregnant. I told my husband that the egg whites resembled that of when I had went into prelabor with my son (mucus plug falling out). I had planned on going to work, and my husband came home from work and told me we are going to the hospital. I went to ER and they did a papsmear, and said the mucous plug did not fall out..?? They did an ultrasound, and said, "Are you sure you are pregnant?", and of course I was in hesterical, and started to show the ultrasound pictures to the doctors. They sent me then to the ambulance room, and they checked again with an ultrasound that detects blood flow...nothing...then again for a heartbeat on another monitor...nothing. So of course I was really sad and crying. I then went to an OB the next day, because mine was on holidays, and she did an ultrasound. The same response, but she found 2 dead fetuses. I then was in the waiting room, waiting for my sick paper for work, and saw a woman with a baby and broke down in tears. I went to my doctor 1 week later to see if maybe the ER, and the other OB had possibly missed the heartbeat somehow, and my doctor came up with the same response. He called the Hospital and got me an appointment 2 days later for a D&C. I was very afraid of a D&C but honestly, the OP was very fast, and I left the hospital the same day. I was glad to get it over with...knowing you have a dead baby in your stomach is a sick feeling. I did not have any infections, but later I still had pregnancy symptoms. I spotted for about a week after the D&C, and then nothing. 3 weeks after the D&C I was at the shopping center and almost threw up just looking at some advertisement for food. I then came to me that maybe something went wrong during the D&C, or that I am again pregnant. I waited of course another week for my period to come, and 3 days before 4 weeks after the D&C, I had spotted. To my surprise the spotting only lasted one wipe. I waited, and then on the 4 week mark I went to the doctor. He did a urine test that came out negative, and told me the blood was probably ovulation.?? Sometimes woman 30 and over get ovulation spotting. I was not satisfied with the nausea I continued to feel the following week, so I went again to the doctor. This time the test came out positive, so he immediately did an ultrasound. The baby was buried good in my uterus. We made appointments every 2 weeks, and I began to bleed brown blood that did not stop until the 10th week with help of estrogen suppositories. Then the bleeding began again while I was at work during week 12, so I called my husband and we went to ER. The ER said that the blood is more brown, the cervix was closed and also the baby was ok. I continued to bleed this brown blood with blood clots of enormous size, and my doctor examined me once more, and found I had placenta previa. I continued to work, but resting at home. The placenta finally moved up on the 14th week which means no more placenta previa. I had a big problem during the 20th week...The baby became engaged, ready to be born. The doctor gave me medication to stop the delivery..which makes you shake. Then 2 weeks later, he said everything is fine now and the thinning and effacement stopped. He told me more than 4 contractions a day is not a good thing at this week, and to call if this continued before our next appointment in 2 weeks. All was well until week 26. Baby was ready again and the Doctor gave me a steroid shot in the butt, and one the next day also. I stopped working totally, and did only necessary things. Week 28...The baby is at breech, and kicking my cervix. Amazing. The baby decides not to be born, and to stay a while. I am so happy now. I just want to tell you all my story. Getting pregnant right after a D&C was scary. All of the obstacles I went through, and the thought that I am going to lose another baby was horrifying. If I would have known the dangers of not letting your cervix heal first before trying, I would have waited a month. Not to mention not letting you body get a little back in shape before trying again. I am 30 weeks now and look like 42 weeks.
