does any one have any ideas on how or what you can take with this geritol tonic.  I read some where that it is good for you and even helps with infertility.  I took my first dose this morning and the first thing i did was vomit.  it is awful.  you have to take a tsp. full of liquid vitamin and let me tell you it is bad.

if any one is taking the ovulex and geritol tonic can you let me know if it is safe bcus i am taking prenatal vitamins also.

ovulex side affects is starting to die down but the nausea is not gone yet.

best wishes and good health to all

To help with the taste of the Tonic I would take a sip of pickle juice to get the taste out of my mouth, I would taste it even hours later!!!!

Hello, I am new to this board and I first wanted to say that I am thankful to know that I am not alone in my journey to have a baby.  I am 35 and have been trying for 3 1/2 years now.  I have a regular 28 day cycle with some 3-5 day prior to menses spotting.  All fertilty tests came back normal so I am trying Ovulex.  On day 5 and no side effects so far.  I keep hearing about Geritol, how often do you take it?  Is it just once a day for the 14 days?  Any help would be great.  And my prayers go out to everyone that is on this journey.  Baby dust to all

Grandmaof2 - Sorry it took me awhile to respond to your post about the bulldog.  I know this is not the appropriate place to talk about this but I will say quickly that yes, I do have an English Bulldog.  She is helping my husband and I prepare to be parents to a baby.  She is only 1 so really it is just like having a "real" baby.  We love her to death but she is very high maintence.  Like you said, breathing problems, skins issues, and she is afraid of EVERYTHING.  We love her anyway.  Any way, I hope you are all doing well on your baby journies!  We are still pushing forward and hope that we get a BFP this month.  I ahve a few days until AF is supposed to arrive.  I am thinking about taking Geritol.  I got off Ovulex due to the 5 lbs weight gain and it made my emotions all out of wack.  I am pretty regular with my ovulation and cycles (I know, I am blessed) so i am going to try it the old fashioned way for awile.  It has only been 5 months of trying for us.

I everbody thought I would jump on your thread and offer my thoughts.

Trina I am so sorry for your losses - that truly must have been a terrible time. I really hope things change and start going your way starting with a BFP as soon as possible.

Ness319 I hope this does not sound too forward but I so wish I had been more aggressive when I was your age that I could not help responding to your post.

My story in a quick nutshell is that I am 38 now and have been ttc for years. I have spent the last 6 months doing clomid and IUIs all with negative results. Because of my age my RE is trying to get me set up for IVF bt Sept.

My advice is that at at 35 things are much more promising than at 38 so you might want to start thinking about when you want to start working with a specialist. I am not trying to pressure you into any proceedures especially if for whatever reasons your preference is to do this naturally I just wish someone had made me think about how the odds for success decrease so much from 35 to 38. I also wish I had found this website years ago so I could learn from all these wonderful women and their stories. For example in hindsight I am wondering why my OB had me do 6 months of clomid (off and on with the IUIs) without doing any US monitoring. I have a cysts now from the clomid that does not seem to want to go away and am wondering how long this might have been an issue. If she had been using US we would have known if it was there and we also would have know more about quantity of follicles. I am wondering in hindsight if those unmonitered IUIs were a waste of time and money and I only know all this now from reading posts and stories. Now that I am with my RE I do feel much more comfortable that things are being more closely looked at and reviewed as well as his style is much more direct and goal oriented than my OB

Like I said I really am not trying to scare you or pressure you I just wish someone had given me these things to think about when I was still 35. Hope this helps and best of luck in however you choose to proceed.

Grandmaof2: I know you have conceived before so I understand your decision to start with the geritol etc but my comments above might also be useful to you as well in determing how long you want to give the geritol and ovulex before moving on to the next step.

I hope I do not sound too pushy I really do not mean to suggest anything anyone is not comfortable with I just thought I would put it out there for consideration.

Sorry bulldoglover I posted too soon - meant to say hi to you as well and welcome you to the site. I do not have one but I do love bulldogs as well . My DH and I keep thinking about getting a french bulldog but we are just not sure how our Ridgeback will react to a sibling, especially if things go well and we will be getting her used to the idea of a new baby.

Hi Trina,

I took my first dose today and it is truly horrible but no pain no gain right...  My question is how many times a day should geritol be taken also do you know how long during your monthly cycle should it be taken.  Trying to find something on this.  Any advise would be greatly appreicated.

Hi ness319,
I had already stopped flowing before I started the Geritol Tonic but, I was told to take it from the first day of the new cycle until the actual ovulation point. Me, I've recently had a regular cycle, but was not sure if I was ovulation. So, I started temping and checking for EWCM. Come to find out I was ovulating and BAM!!! 2 weeks later a BFP. I would take the tonic 45mins-1hr before sex. Blessing on your journey to motherhood. Keep me posted.....

Thank you all for your post, just love this website and all you ladies.

To answer your ? lila the reason I have not gone to a specialist is because of the money.  I believe that I need to save money for my grandkids (for college).  I try to see them atleast twice a week to have lunch or just hang out but some times my daughter-in-law gets in her moods and I am not allowed to see my grandkids.  Talk about cutting deep.  I am just beside myself when this happens and then things calm down and we are all happy again.  Sorry I am going on about my problems but this just happened today again.  I do not see my son alot either due to he works out of state and so does my husband so I am pretty much here at home with my dogs.
I figured that I will take the ovulex for about six mths, unless we are blessed with an angel.  The geritol, if it makes me feel good and healthy then I will take it from now on. The prenatal vitamins I will take for the six mths also. We will have to wait and see.
One good thing is that I work at a medical clinic and I can get my blood work and pg test free or at a very very low cost.  I am always asking for medical advice from my providers and they just laugh and tell me what I need to know.

I did not know to put the ovulex in the refrigerator after opening it.  I opened my bottle a week ago and just put it in the frig today hope it did not make it go bad
The geritol was not so bad the second time around but it sure does taste bad.

Good night ladies
God bless and good health

Grandmaoftwo: I am so sorry that your insurance does not provide for specialist. I know I am very lucky that we have this coverage but I have to say this really is one of those issues that makes me so mad. I just do not understand how insurance companies can justify it, and I really do not understand how in the current political climate that supposedly promotes family values and a culture of life why more politicians are not working to mandate coverage. You would think this would be a no brainer issue for politicians to do -  something that could help to create and build families. I live in Virginia and a bill is pending in our state legislature but who knows when and if they will act on it. Again I am so sorry I did not mean to suggest this was the only path and I really wish you the best of luck with the Ovulex and Geritol Tonic, and I am glad that you have the free access to blood work that must be a relief .

Also I wanted to say what an amazing person you must be. Planning for your grandchildren’s education is such a wonderful thing, education truly is the greatest gift one can ever receive. Not to mention that you are willing to take on this rollercoaster of the TTC journey to help give your DH a child of his own – very selfless.

Lila do not feel bad about suggesting fertility methods for us to try.  I have been to a sp. about 5 yrs ago and he told me that nothing was wrong and that I should be able to get pg and for me to come back in about 3 mths if no pg occurred. then my son and my husband were working together out of state so I left with them and was just having a good time and the yrs went on thinking that I could get pg on my own.  Then came my precious grandson and let me tell if you think that you can not love any one more than you do your children wait until you all have grandkids it is so amazing looking at my grandson and he looks so much like his dad. It is like having my son all over again and now that I am much older I can really have fun.  I had my son when I was 15 yrs old and did the best that I could with him and which I guess I did a pretty good job (no drugs,  no jail time, no vandalizum sp?, never hit me and now he works very hard for his two children and wife).  I just feel that he is so young that he might not know how or never be able to save for colloge for the kids so I feel that I should since it is getting expensive.  Oh and then came my princess which she just clinges to me when I see her, she just watches me when I talk or when doing something she has to be right by my side and she looks just like my side of the family.  My grandson is 4 and my granddaughter is 1 and 2 mths.
My husband has 3 grown boys which we just found out that his middle son and wife are expecting in about 6 to 7 mths.  I think that the grandkids are helping us cope with the infertility issues, but when I see them I just want to keep them or it makes me long for one of my own.

Please give me any advice you want and never think that It will hurt my feelings, I just write back to chat and get things off my chest so that I will have a circle of friends.
Thank you
Best wishes and good health

Hope this post is not to crazy I am trying to type fast bcus of work.
