bleeding/spotting during pregnancy

I am 7w2d pregnant.  I have been spotting for almost 2 weeks.  It stops for a day & then starts again.  I went to the drs & had an ultra sound. We saw the baby's heartbeat. The dr told me not to worry about the spotting because they saw the heartbeat. I am still so nervous.  Has anyone ever experienced this before & gone on to have a normal healthy baby? I had a mc at 16 weeks that started with spotting out of nowhere.

Bleeding can be common during pregnancy. Something like 30% of women have it with no complications. On the other hand, I will be honest with you. I had spotting at 8 weeks and everything seemed fine. At 12 weeks the ultrasound showed the baby had a chromosomal abnormality... three sets of chromosomes. Looking back the spotting was a symptom of that. I terminated at 18 weeks. Just remember spotting is not uncommon, but in some instances it can be indicative of something else, like in my case.

Thanks for your answer.  I am sorry to hear about your loss.  I had a similiar situation happy to me back in March. I made it to 16 weeks. I only spotted the day before I went to the DRs & when I went in there was no heartbeat.  It was determined the baby had "Turners Syndrome" How sad!!

Did you stop spotting at 8 weeks or did it continue on until the end.  I haven't had any more spotting in 12 days. I have a few u/s & the baby's heartbeat is stong.

It is so hard to go on after something like that happens!!!  I just keep hoping for the best. I want to be excited but I can't.  I will be 10 weeks tomorrow.
