Hello Doctor

If one's bHCG levels are 8901, 7 weeks after LMP and an intra-viginal scan only reveals an empty sac (inside uterus), does this mean a blited ovum?  If so how long will this result to a miscarriage?

I am sorry to hear of your difficulty.  If you are 7 weeks after you rlast menstrual period, and no fetal pole can be found on vaginal ultrasound, you will proably lose the pregnancy.  Most miscarriages do not require a D & C.  There is no way to predict how long it will take for the uterus to empty itself, but it will probably be within the next week or 2.
Good luck.
