I just had a quick question. What is the purpose of prescribing birth control pills for a month prior to an IVF cycle? I saw you reply to someone saying you use that protocol and I know I did it for my one successful ICSI cycle in 1997 but never knew why they are used. Thank you in advance for answering.
36 years old. Married for 17 years. 1 son, 7 years old, conceived w/ ICSI. 2nd IVF w/ ICSI in June=No Fertilization. August cycle cancelled for poor response. Considering options.
Is it correct that being on BCP for 1 month increases the AFC at the beginning of the subsequent cycle, or does it just improve the number of good-quality eggs yielded from the (same number of) follicles after stimulation?
