Dear daisy, I hope you are feeling well. I'm just starting the ivf with my baseline u/s today. I wish everyone here good luck on all of your upcoming pg tests! Daisy, I have a question for you if you don't mind. You said you transfered 3 grade 1 embryos which is fantastic. I don't know your age and was wondering if you would like triplets or did your doctor recommend it? My dr prefers 2 for transfer. I'm sure the odds go way up for more than 2 though. I'm 33. Please respond. thanks. cassandra

Cassandra, I don't mind sharing. I'm 38 and that's why they put back 3 embryos. I know the older you are the more they transfer because statistics go way down for one to take let alone all three to take. I think at your age two is the max most docs would transfer. If all three took I would be happy but concerned about the complications that are associated with multiple births. I'm 5'4" 110 lbs and three babies would be a lot for me to carry.Best of luck! Daisy

Cassandra or Daisy
I am rather new to this board but I am going back for IVF with ICSI April 14. That's just the first appointment so it wont start until after that but I had a couple of questions... I am 36...do either of you know what your doc's recommendations were for number of embryos to what age? (what age does it go from 2 to 3?) Maybe 43 knows the answer to this one if she looks at this post...If you have an hcg trigger shot just prior to egg retrieval as I did last time...can that show up in your hpt 14 days later and ruin the accuracy?
Thanks! Meridith

My 1st IVF I had 3 embryos put back in. 1 took but m/c. My 2nd IVF, which was an FET, they put back 4. Three took, at 12 wks. found out 1 m/c b/w 10 and 11 wks. and I ended up w/ twins, and I delivered them at exactly 32 wks. I am now 33, but was 30 for 1st IVF and 31 for 2nd IVF. We are more than likely going to do another FET in the coming months after a consult w/ our RE. If we are lucky enough to have 2 left after thawing, that is the most I would do now. I too am small, 5'3" and about 108 lbs., but I have heard of lots of people who are small carrying twins and triplets to at least 36 weeks or more. Meg

Meredith, I test on thursday. About your question on HCG it is safe to test on day 14. THe docs say it stays in the body about 10 days. But to be sure wait until day 14 so no false negatives.

meridithhasfaith, The Society for Reproductive Medicine guidelines suggests the following for embryo transfer: Under 30 transfer 1-2 embryos; 30-35 transfer 2-3 embryos; 35-40 transfer 3 embryos. These numbers may vary depending on individual diagnosis and clinical circumstances. Good Luck! Daisy

Less than 24 hours until my PG test. Feeling very anxious and really can't wait to find out either way because the stress of waiting the last two weeks has been killing me . Hope all are doing well! Daisy
