I was just wondering what tests must a physician perform to find out if a woman has PCOS?  Thanks for your time.

There is an extensive list of laboratory tests which have been performed in an effort to define PCO. At this time, it seems the most reliable is an ultrasound examination of the ovaries, and identifying a chain of tiny follicles under the surface of the ovary.  It is called the "string of pearls sign".  For mor enformation about PCO I invite you to see the information on our web page, <www.texasfertility.com>.
Good luck.
