Great idea Shaz...sometimes when people send me a message when I am on I do not realize it until much later. A way to IM would be great. Also I agree with you all about the IVF boards and the abbreviations.

I know with every new thing comes a change but I'm not happy with the new board and I'm not the only one. Its is too crowd. The fonts are to small. You don't know which thread a member of your special support group has posted. I like the tool box (other links box) you know the one over to the side but only if it could have its own page like move to the Home page only. That will give us more room like it use to be.

I like the old boards a bit better when it says the name of the person who last posted on each topic- can that be brought back?

I believe a board for the newbies to the infertility world would be a good idea.

How about a section for women with PCOS? To share stories, treatments and TTC journeys with.

Yes, I have a new topic.
Has anyone heard of the newly FDA approved conception cap? You can find it at conceptioncapkit.com. It's kind of like using the instead cup to get pg but with a sperm friendly material (silicon) non-latex material. The web site out of Canada explains how in the 50's when women had trouble getting PG they would go to their GYN and their DH's would deposit sperm into a cone shaped metal object then the Dr. would place it on the women's cervix where she would lay ther for 6-8 hours and 30% would get pg. this was called the grandma's cervical cap. The idea is keeping sperm away from hostile vaginal environment were it only has 5 mins. to get to friendly cervical mucus where it can then live for many hours.
If anyone's heard or used this method please let us know. It's only been approved this year. Also I looked up instead cup materials and it uses polyurethane and mineral oil. The mineral oil is not recommended for sperm so the instead cup may not be the best option.
There is also a menstrual cap called the Diva cap or cup, this might be better and cheaper than conception cap cause it's made from similar silicone material and is only $32.00, diva cups also states you may boil them and re-use where as the conception cap says to throw them away (at $299, I don't think so) same silicone material) so I would just boil it. There another cap called the Keeper but is made out of latex so this would not be recommended (not sperm friendly). The conception kit also comes w/ preseed lubricant which may help w/ dry CM and is sperm friendly unlike other lubricants.
I'm thinking of buying this for help w/ my DH's low sperm count and slow progression. Since this may help inbetween expensive IUI's that has already failed for me. They also state that a clinical trial to approve the conception cap left 24% of the women pregnant!! This sounds promising, so girls please do a little research and let us know what you think. Doing it at home makes you feel like the medical community doesn't have all the power over us!
Excited about the new conception cup Anita
