Starting Flare Protocol

Hi,

I have just been taken off all medication after starting my first ivf cycle.  I was on Suprecur for 3.5 weeks and gonal f for 1 week, 225 and 300 iu alternating daily.  Basically my scan showed only one follicle/egg.  The clinic have now recommended that we go for the flare protocol as I am a poor responder.  My question is whether I am best to do this for my next menses (probably in less than 2 weeks now) or to wait to allow my body to recover.  Will the medication I 've had affect my next period and thus my chances or will it aid my chances?

Thanks for your reply.  Bubble

I have my patients take birth control pills for 1 month before starting any IVF stimulation.  As poor as your response was to the dose of FSH you were taking, you may need donor egg.
Good luck.
