Hi everyone: WEll i have still been having contractions but cervix remains closed, However i am just getting over the flu.  If you think the flu sucks normally it really sucks when you are 28 weeks pregnate well i am scheduled for my c-section 11 weeks tomorrow, i cant wait.

ALso i have never been told not to take hot baths i did it with my daughter and i do it now i just dont let the water cover my belly i do it more for my back.

On the topic of maternity clothes, its hard to say.  I would recommend that if you plan on trying for another go bigger then you need.  I was small with my daughter and i got alot bigger this time, most my maternity clothes do not fit.  I just wear dh clothes.  My dh is a gym junkie and hes pretty big.  I refuse to buy more since this is my last.  But khols, jcpenny and mimi maternity online are all good if you need more work clothes.  Old navy are nicely priced but more casual.  However sine im on bed rest i stay in pjs most the time.

On the topic of maternity leave.  If you have a c-section most obs recommend 8-10 weeks off mine did with my daughter and i was glad i took it and didnt rush cause i healed very well.  When i had my laperoscopy prior to the pregnancy my RE was shocked i had no scar tissue and she said it was cause i listened to all the directions.

On the excercise topic: what sucks is wifand when you are released to exercise you tend to get fatigue quickly due to being pregnate.

WEll hope all is well with all the babies.

Lindsay - How exciting that you could see arms and legs! My image still looks like a cashew shaped blob but I could see the umbilical cord. What a difference a week makes! I will be 10 weeks at my next one so hopefully we'll see some arms on the peanut!

B-I can't believe you have the flu on top of everything else. Keep hanging in there it won't be long now.

Speaking of the flu - I read that all pregnant women should get a flu shot during flu season. I have never had a flu shot and they kind of scare me. Have you all had one?

Julie i usually get the flu shot every year and i did with my first daughter too.  However my regular dr is being an ass since i am so high risk this time he refuses to see me he tells me to talk to my OB or go to the ER.  Time for a new family Dr, but to hard to find one with everything going on.  Dh and daughter got one to try and avoid me getting it but niece gave it to me on thanksgiving.  My broher didnt tell me she just got over it the night before.  Therefore i say get it.  If my reg Dr. wasnt an ass i would have one.

Michelle i have always taken a hot bath i was just told not to have the belly completely covered so that the baby could regulate its temp.  I would go to the ER for the flu shot but i have a $100.00 co-pay for the ER, so unless something is wrong im not going there i have had so many visits there i should have a wing named after me.  For the 1st mths i was there everyother day with dehydration before they put my picc line in and my insurance gave me a home nurse.  I had the picc line until like week 20, and ive been there for other reasons.  I hate going unless i have to.

I don;t blame you for not wanting to go to the ER.  I don;t know where you live but you can also get a flu shot at drug stores and pharmacy's...  Longs, Safeway, Rite-Aid and Walgreens are all offering them right now here in California for $12-$20...  BUT...if you are not going out much than you are probably not even at risk really, I wouldn't worry about it unless your Dr. says something.

Thanks for the information on the Hot Bath... Now that I am pg I can not have my glass of Pinot in the evening to settle me down so I always take a nice hot bath!  I will just keep the belly surfaced!

Hope all is well!

Hi Ladies!

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.  Is everyone getting ready for the holiday season?!?!  I haven't even started my shopping yet.

I've had some sharp pains on my left side today.  I think I've just been doing too much running around.  The pain comes and goes and are sharp and very brief.  I'm hoping it's just ligaments stretching.  I don't have any bleeding or anything else.  I'm gonna take a hot shower and hope that helps.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I hope everyone is well!

Hi Daniella

A few days ago I had gas pains that were sharp and painful, otherwise nothing else.  Do you have a cyst on your left ovary?

I am finally moving out of the nausea stage, or so it seems.  I have had a good appetite the past 3 days!!!  This is very exciting considering I LOVE food.

I also had this terrible dream that I was running a marathon and realized halfway through that I was pregnant.  Even since I became pregnant, I have vivid dreams every night.

Hope everyone is well!!!  I have my first obgyn appt this Friday and my last u/s at my RE next Monday.  I started a scrapbook this weekend with all my u/s pics.

Talk to you girls soon-Linzie

Is everyone planning on finding out the sex of their baby?

Danella: Sounds like ligament pain to me.  I still have it hereand there.  also have it on the tp at my ribs now that i am farther along.  I get it so bad that i want to cry at times. I found that if you take a hot water bottle and ly on the side i hurts with i, they lighten up if not go away.  All the lovely symptoms of prgnancy.  How far along are you?

Linzie and beth - I think think i may have pulled or stretched something in my side.  I feel much better today.  I work in a school so I asked my school nurse (she used to be an OB and labor and delivery nurse) what she thought and she thinks I pulled something and said i should feel better soon.  I don't know how I could have pulled something I'm still not allowed to do anything!!!!

beth - I am 10 weeks 3 days

linzie - my scrapbooking buddy just moved away and I can't find anyone to go with me!  I am itching to get a baby scrapbook started but it's so much more fun to go with a friend!  Did you use your original u/s pics or did you make copies?

Daniella - I agree with Beth....Most likely the pain is from ligaments strething...They are more noticeable the further along you get especially if this is your first pregnancy or the furthest you have gotten in a pregnancy...You will notice it more in the second trimester so it is something to possibly get used to as your pregnancy advances...The first time that it happened to me I was about  13 weeks along and it was in the middle oF my abdomen and it felt like a charlie horse cramp that was just unbearable and almost doubled me over in the grocery store...Everything was just fine and then I noticed it about every week after that until about 3 weeks ago and it was mainly on the sides of my abdomen lower then the belly button a little above the pubic area...So most likely you are just making room baby!!!...Take care and talk to you soon.

Hi girls
I have not heard much from the rest of you so I thought I would say hi.  I had my first obgyn appt today, and we were able to hear the heartbeat!!!  It was very exciting.  The rate was 180 bpm.  They could not find it at first, and my heart just sank.  Thankfully, all seems okay.

I also got a flu shot today.  I work around a lot of random people so I thought it would be a good idea.  On Monday, I have my first trimester screening (I think they called it a sequential screen??).  They said it had to be done b/t 11 and 13 weeks.  I was lucky to get an appt-they first offered Christmas Eve.

Just wanted to say hi.  I hope everyone is doing well!!

Sounds great Lindsay...Wow 180bpm mine was 161bpm now it is down to the 140s...Don't worry as baby grows the heartrate goes down...Trust me I questioned right away since it was 161 at my first trimester screening and then it was 140 something at my 18 week anamoly screening...I know how you feel sometimes even now when it takes them a little longer to find his heartbeat I am consumed with worry...It is natural...Glad to hear all is well and I will talk to you again soon.
