I am on my first drug cycle. I was on birthcontrol pills for 3 weeks and then started on Follistim day 2 of cycle. 300 per day. Two days later it was increased to 425 per day and is continuing. I am on day 9 of Follistim. Dr. told me 2 days ago that I was not responding well to the meds--had only 2 follicles which have been growing but that IVF would probably not happen. Said I was still in running for IUI this month. I asked him if in the future another medication protocol might make a difference and he said no. IVF probably not option if something doesn't turn around in this cycle. My question is whether I should get 2nd opinion regarding whether another IVF cycle should be undertaken? I have a great doctor but I know that others may have a different opinion?? Or am I wasting my time? MG
