I have been through 2 failed IUIs, 2 IVFs with 2 fresh transfers and 2 frozen transfers. I'm 36, DH is 35. Embryos always looked good and I've always had some to freeze. However, we have never gotten a BFP. I was recently tested for thrombophilia, APAs and NKs. All were normal except NKs. I'm pretty high in the killing % at 14.3. We've considered IVIG possibly for my next fresh transfer. I feel I have a good RE for the IVF. My question is this: Should I consult with a Reproductive Immunologist in addition to my regular RE? I just want to make sure I'm covering all my bases.
Your RE has probably already consulted with a Reproductive Immunologist (RI) regarding your elevated NK cells. The labs that perform NK cell activation tests usually have a RI on staff who is available to discuss the results with the RE. IVIg is the treatment of choice for patients with repeated implantation failure and elevated NK cells. You're on the right track. Good luck.
