Ladies, I was wondering the difference between progesterone shots or the yellow vaginal suppositories I am going to be taking. Did you have a choice? I will be doing prometrium 3 times daily. It's pretty yucky. I will have to take it for weeks! I don't like to have sex when I'm on it. My DH has been understanding. I guess I have a hangup. I'm almost jealous of your shots. Just sounding off. Thanks.                cassandra

I have to do the suppositories and the shots.  The suppositories are gross.    I usually bathe, have sex, clean up and then put one in.  Hubby needs to be happy.

The shots leave hard knots in your butt and when I was pg and had to do them for 8 weeks more my butt was hard and black and black and blue.

Fortythree, you have to do both? You would think one is enough. The only thing about  "bathing" for me is I get a yeast infection if I even look at a tub of water. I don't want to risk it. My DH appreciates other approaches though! Thanks for responding. How are you feeling? I'm going to ask my doctor this Sunday when I go for an u/s about that cream.  from  cassandra

I bet he is willing to try other methods.  i have not of heard of the cream in the conception process but willing to learn something new.  Let us know what you find out.
I think because of my age I have to have both.  Does anyone do both shots and suppositories?

This morning I asked the doctor about the cream. She said it was called clomid or something like that. She also said way messier than prometrium.    cassandra

I didn't have a choice.  It was suppositories.  50 mg in the morning and 100 mg at night.  But from reading what fourtythree went through with the butt shots, I think I would perfer the suppositories even though they were really messy.

I did the progesterone gel its called Crinone. It comes w/ its own applicator and you do it at night before bed, the best part NO LEAKING. I had a reaction to the suppositories. This works the same. The only gross part is it starts to gel up I guess and looks like you stuffed your crotch w/ wet toilet paper it comes out when you wipe.

I Have to laugh I am going through both and it SUCKS!!!! I take a 2cc shot eveery nigh on my but where I can find a spot that isn't the size of a hugh gumball and then I geet to put the suppositorie in that leaks and itches eveytime I move. They told me I have to do  this for three months. The funniest part is I won't let anyone give me the shots so it even gets harder!!! I feel for you all. What we do to make children. I hope we get them and they are angels!!!!  Paige

I started off with Crinone gel but I had a reaction. Since then my DH has been giving me daily shots of progesterone. I got to say I prefer the Crinone...it is not nearly as painful.
