Pregnant with NKA+

Hello All:

This is my first time using this  forum.

I have had two miscarriages. All of them were at week six.

I went to a doctor overseas who told me that all my tests were fine and that I had an hormonal issue. That I needed to get pregnant again because the hormones of a pregnant woman are different to the one that is not.

Now, I got pregnant as he said.

The doctor overseas was closer to the answer since the problem has been in fact diagnosed as hormonal.

Now, here in the United States...

I realized that my current obgyn has not been very proactive and her nurse did not believe that I was pregnant.

I came to know that my obgyn had in her records that I had to see an endocrinologist, but she never called me to let me know. Then, I also came to know that I was supposed to start a progesterone treatment, but magically, the news never got to me.

I am here, 4 weeks pregnant and I came to know that I have the Natural Killers cells positive. Tomorrow, I am scheduled for an IVIG.

I just wonder if this will work even if I did not do the treatment previous to the implantation?

Thank you,

Claudia

Claudia,

Thank you so much for sharing your story, so sorry to hear about your two miscarriages, But congrats on your pregnancy now , I pray everything goes well for you.

I also have had several miscarriages, I usually can't make it past 6 weeks, I just had a m/c this past sunday.

I'm sorry to say I don't know anything about IVIG, I just pray that everything goes well so you will be able to have a healthy baby.

You have come to the right place, all the ladies here are so supportive, informative and so very nice.

I'm so happy you shared your story, I have several questions when I finally go see an R.E(endocrinologist) I have taken several test and everything comes back negative, now that you mentioned the Natural killer cells that is something else I need to address with the new Dr.

I pray all goes well for you and your baby, Take care Tiffany , keep us updated!

Tiffany:

Pleae check with different doctors. Get your transcripts and research. All the doctors told me the same. "Everything is normal". But it is not. If your uterus is fine, your husband is fine. Just pay lots of attention to your hormones.

I went to the website http://www.haveababy.com. I requested an appointment and those are the ones taking care of me.

No one!!, No one, have found an issue. But these guys did. They ran the following:

- APA (ANTIPHOSPOLIPDS) (21 PANELS). My normal APA and the ones covered by insurance were OK. But 2 of the 21 panels (not covered by insurance were borderline abnormal).

- SPERM test on my husband. I told the doc that I do not want to go through so much pain. Perhaps the issue is my husband. They found that my husband had the shape of the chromosomes abnormal. Out of 14 minimum, he had a 4.

- NKA+. Please check that. This is not covered by insurance. Go to your transcripts and see if they had done it. I had to pay extramoney but 4 doctors had seen me and no one had checked me for it. Usually, they do not tell you because it is not covered by isnurance. This is my main issue.

Now, I am praying to save the baby. We have lots of people praying. Lets hope we can save it. I am waiting now for my doctor's call to see if the hormones have gone up since my ivig.

A hug,

Claudia
